structures, etc., and then copied the new licence key in, it says something

If you mean Klango, you can set that in the system options under auto login.
choices are to have klango start with windows, behave as a normal program
ie, open and close, or minimize instead of closing once you've opened it.

There is no where where you are surrounded by walls. if you want more info,
just use the command to tell you the coordinates of objects in the current
room, it'll tell you where the doors are so you can easily work out where to
go.
As to energy, you just need to keep a watch on it and refill
