[Audyssey] AD and D muds?
Hi, was wondering if anyone knows of some muds that follow the dungeons and dragons rules? I have played Toril and shadowgate, but toril is more of a get to the top level and then find better equipment to augment your character ( which I find kind of lame) and shadowgate is kind of a pain due to the fact that when you leave the game, you either have to go to an inn and pay to have your equipment stored in a vault in the inn, and and when you get higher more powerful pieces of equipment, you pay increadibly high fees, or if you just end the game without being in an inn, you lose all your equipment you have gathered. Yes, I do play alter aeon, but after a while, I need a break from that one and want to try out another. Thanks Keith PS I am looking for muds I can play on my computer, not a smart phone --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] AD and D muds?
Keith, I’m afraid I don’t know of any games specifically which follow ADD rules. A lot of them might have similar attributes, skills or whatever, but most probably simplify things. There are a few games set in DD settings—I think I remember something about the Forgotten Realms, but I’m not sure. Maybe someone else will have more info. Best, Zack. Re: [Audyssey] AD and D muds?
ADD is a really bad game design for something like a mud. It works when you use it at the glacial pace of a pen and paper setting, but it only works well if you have a good DM to go with it. In a high speed, real time scenario under computer control, the rules just aren't going to work well. I know there are a few games that claim to use DD rules, but it's invariably with a ton of tweaks to make the game playable. [Audyssey] muds with psionics in a medieval settings
Hi, me again. I'm the one who was asking about muds with a d and d /forgotten realms setting. Shadowgate and toril just weren't hacking it. So, to ammend my previous email, are their any muds with a psionicist or psionic class that takes place in a medieval world setting? I do love alter aeon and will always fall back on that game, but sometimes I just get burened out and need a change of scenery. Thanks to dennis town and the other individual who responded to my previous email. Re: [Audyssey] AD and D muds?
Even for tabletop games (sometimes disconcertingly called pen and paper games), the standard DD stats don't always work out unless you've got a gm who is willing to play with the rules a little and ignore some of the excesses of the system, rather than just play by numbers, indeed if your going to play by numbers here isn't a point having a human gm at all, sinse the point of a human is the actual role playing as much as the playing at rolling dice :D. All the best, Dark. - Original Message - From: Dennis Towne s...@xirr.com To: Gamers Discussion list gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Friday, December 05, 2014 10:08 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] AD and D muds?
