 Hi gamers:

This is a quick update to say that everything is still in working order.
We recently had a sun pump failure which caused a build up of water in the
room where I have all the equipment I use to produce games and audio.
Thankfully, everything has been saved. The release date for Judgment day
is December 12. If you have any questions between now and then, please
let me know. Thanks to those who sent me words of encouragement. Floods
can be very costly, and I consider myself extremely lucky.

 Hi folks,

have been wondering how you all deal with a bar brawl in the extreme wild
 west table of pinball extreme.
Sometimes, i get quite a number of the punches in, then miss at the last
 minute.
i can tell left to right from my speakers, but, i just don't know how much
time i have to find the right place before i don't know, the time runs out
 etc.
i found the way much easier in pinball classic, just, holding down both of
the shift keys, don't know why they had to change it for this game.
Someone suggested headphones, wondered if that was another popular way.

 Ok.
This stuff sounds like paul is quite bad.
 Ok.
Half of this is stuff aint known to me.
And does it matter at all?
Are these things varified, can they be varified.
I don't know the parties in this and it looks like to me any that
even if paul and all inplay are corrupt as heck, unless this whatever
it is appears in the allinplay gaming thing it shouldn't really matter.
Secondly this message looks like a forward of a forward.
 Who is the origional sender?
Why does not this person come foreward on their own.
At any rate, blabbing about a corrupt ass aint going to make said
 person stop except hide.
Finally I suspect this stuff aint for the list.
However thats my view as a member of the list.
I havn't done allinplay stuff as the online table thing aint my scene
so I am an outsider to this and it just looks like a rumour here.
I vote that as long as this whatever it is does not happen in the bg
 community it should be dropped.
I suppose we could watch our backs.
To the person thats sending this, we need varification.
Someone is going to have to prove the stuff they said.
 I will not shoot messangers.
But if the origional person will not come forward I think there is
nothing we can do but watch our back.
Meanwhile we should bann anyone that posts such messages.
And only messages that are proved should be sent.
 This is shocking.
I am sure paul is seeing this.
But we had the james north thing.
I'm not about to make the same mistake I made last time.

Hello everyone.

Can you imagine drama and deception being caused by the co-founders of All
InPlay? Well, if you can't, just read below.

It all started in January of 2005 when Paul came to the tgreeter team
leader, Cotton
Blossom, and told her about Jojo, whom he said was an ordinary college
intern. Since that time, All InPlay has not communicated decently with CB
or the rest of the greeter team, and the many opportunities that we gave
to
Paul to tell us *HONESTLY* who Jojo was were shot down.
Also, CB wrote many emails to Paul encouraging him to communicate openly
with her, but he never did.

On June 19, 2006, the greeters wrote to Paul about having a recognition
ceremony for CB. In his response on June 20, he said, It is so sweet
that
you and the others wish to throw a party for CB! At
the moment I have my hands very full with Holdem so can't think much
about plans.

As for JoJo Bot - CB gets far more recognition than Aaron, the leader of
our other volunteer team (the testers), yet none of the testers complain
that Aaron does not have a bot yet Michael (our new programmer) does.
That is because they understand they are volunteers and Michael is a
part of our team. _no one_ has any issues.

I have given CB _far_ more recognition than any other volunteer -
including Aaron. Yet it never seems to be enough.

You, VV, CB, and the others are volunteers. And like our other
volunteers, get thanked publicly and fairly often. Really? I've never
heard or seen him thank her in public. He seemed unwilling to even give
it
a thought.

In July, at the ACB convention, CB and I went by the All InPlay booth so
that CB could ask Paul if they could talk. She asked for five minutes,
at some point in the week. They talked that day, but not even for the
whole five minutes, because when Paul was called to a meeting, he just
brushed CB aside and went on his merry way. He did not even approach CB
again for another meeting. One of my friends, who was not yet a community
member, came by the All InPlay booth and she said that she was there for
about 45-50 minutes, and for most of those minutes, someone named
Melaney
was there and Paul and she had their heads together in deep conversation.
That same friend said that Paul promptly introduced Jojo as his fiance.
He
can tell a total stranger, but not his own community? Sounds strange to
me!

Another thing that Paul has done is to

 Hi Brandon,

I've only just found the time to listen to your demo and I'm absolutely
amazed! You may have read a recent post of mine about the blind community
and being 'out there communicating the game industry and so forth. I
 think
this idea is *incredibly* valuable for the game industry becuse your demo
gives such a good insight in what a blind gamer has to go through in
 order
to play a PSP game. And I don't want that to sound very negative. Did
 you
send your link to EA Games already?

Although your archive only consists of just one demo, I really look
 forward
to your reviews and I really, really hope that more people send in their
audio reviews of mainstream computer games. This type of material is not
only very handy and fun to listen to for blind gamers who might want to
 try
and play that game as well, but it is extremely valuable *research*
 material
as well. Research is not just stuff that happens in laboratories, it is
(simple) recordings of this which provide such a good overview of what
problems there are and what solutions there are. This is exactly the type
 of
 material researchers and developers value.

I will put a link in the Resources section under 'Multimedia' :
 http://www.game-accessibility.com/index.php?pagefile=papers (you need to
scroll down because I've not yet added an anchor yet). Currently there
 are
only movies there, so it would be nice to have a link to some audio-only
footage as well. If you want, you can use the forum to spread the word
whenever you put more links up. I'll also put up some links to your site
 on
AudioGames.net. And I'll try to see if I can reach someone from the team
 of
EA who developed this game to listen to your recording.

 Greets,

 Richard

Well, allow me to start with the basics. The menus are pretty easy to
function, though it can get a little complicated if you're selecting a
high-profile match type. Creating your superstar isn't really accessible,
though, which is why I'm glad to have a girlfriend. Haha. As far as
 gameplay
goes, you really couldn't ask for a simpler yet more powerful system. The
triangle button is your run button, and pressing it without adding a
direction on the D-pad will make you run directly at your opponent.
Convenient, ain't it? Grapples are even easier. Simply press circle and a
directional button to initiate one of four grapple types. There are seven
total grapple types in the game, but every superstar has only four out of
those seven. Makes them all different, you see. Also, a little sound plays
when you get your special! Hurray for unneccessary but convenient noises!
Using your special is as simple as knowing the situation your opponent
 needs
to be in, then pressing the L button if you're playing the PSP version, or
the L1 button on the PS2.
As for the season mode, well, it happens to have superstar voiceovers,
 which
means cutscenes we can actually understand. Starting a season is easy, and
 continuing one is even easier.
One last thing I should note is that the PSP version has no commentary
during matches. However, though commentary is convenient, it isn't
 essential
to play the game. I've done just fine without it. I will actually be doing
 a
game demonstration of the PSP version soon, and I plan to put it on my web
site in a new section I'm creating revolving around accessible gaming.
 Look
 forward to that.

So how accessible is WWE? How do you play it accessibly, and do you need

 Brandon Cole wrote:
Well, the games I have are:
 Street Fighter Alfa 3 Max
 WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006

and I'm about to get Tekken.
The only one of those you could consider unplayable if you felt like it

the GTA game, but I got it for one real reason. The GTA series has
 always
been one of my favorite series to mess around in. It's fun just to steel

less game sounds though, my friend had a baseball game where you'd sort of

new version their's no pitching sound. Also, I could play FIFA 99 on the
 PC,
my dad just needs to start the matches for me, because you need to do that
with the mouse. How I sort of used to play, is you know where a person
 plays
in real life, for example, when I hear the commentator say 'Vieir,' I'd
 know
that, since V plays central midfield, that's where I am, then I would know
that I'd sort of be OK, no matter in which direction I pass. What's also
good is how the commentator gets excited when you're near the goal.
 Running
is a bit of luck, since you can't see where defenders are, but it's still
fun to play. In the latest FIFA's, they've taken the sound of tackling
 away,
and made the ball sound so soft, that I really can't play it.
I actually do have a Sega Megadrive, and I agree that the WWF games are
 very
easy to play, it's just a question of having someone to tell you what the
sounds mean, and then you can really enjoy yourself. My friend also had
Mortal Combat 3 on the Sega, and that was really cool. I stopped consoles,
until my brother got this model, so I'm really excited to get back into
console gaming. The only thing I regret though is that games for the
Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega were so cheap, that it was OK if
 you
bought one which turned out not to be so accessible. Nowdays with PS2 and
PSP, games are so expensive that their's no room for making a mistake, and
 I
can't even try the games out before I buy (with Nintendo and sega, their
 was
this lovely games shop that we always used to go to, with friendly staff
 who
had the patients of saints!) I used to try 3 or 4 games before deciding on
 one!

Oh yes. War Zone was a WWF Classic. Ah, the days when you only had 18
characters to choose from. Haha. Attitude was better, and had 30 or so
wrestlers on its character list. As for fight night and knockout kings,
 your
friend is right. KK is a button masher through and through. It requires no
skill to beat the game. Fight night, however, is tougher. You have to deal
with ducking, weaving, blocking, parrying, hooks, jabs, uppercuts,
haymakers, and so on and so forth. It's really quite fun though.

 Hi Brandon,
I don't know if you ever tried this, but one WWF game that for me was not
quite fun and that friendly, in terms of commentary and accessibility,
 was
WWF War Zone, which I tested on the PS. My friend then bought WWF
 Attitude
for his PS in 2001, and that was real improvement and very fun. I must
actually make a plan to see all these new games, I actually haven't seen
 my
console gaming friend for about four years, because we stay so far from
 each
other! You mention Fight Night, my friend had Knockout Kings, he reckons
Fight Night has been made harder than KK ever was (not because of
accessibility, but in terms of moves).

I don't think sound is slowly draining from sports games because the
developers wish to take it out. I believe it is because these days,
 everyone
strives for a television-like presentation. You certainly don't hear the
ball being thrown on TV, for instance.

game sounds. I agree with Brandon about menues, you need a sighted

Hi Folks,

session. Matthew Atkinson of AGRIP gave a presentation about his theories
and findings in the AudioQuake project. Guidelines for game accessibility
were also presented here. These are one of the first sets of guidelines
currently under development (in this case these resemble the style and
format of W3C's WAI-CAG guidelines for web accessibility). I personally
think there's a lot wrong with the proposed guidelines so I look forward
to the other ones currently under development. I suggest you all have a
look for yourselves here: http://gameaccess.medialt.no/guide.php and see
how people are out there trying to define how the industry should make
more accessible games. I'm interested in what you, the tar

The other major event was Develop Brighton in (where else) Brighton
(England), where the IGDA Game Accessibility Special Group held a full-day
tutorial with presentations and hands-on gaming events. Among the
participants were Michelle Hinn (IGDA), Thomas Westin and Goran Lange
(PinInteractive), Dimitris Grammenos and Giannis Georgalis (Universally

(AudioGames.net / Accessibility.nl) and Eelke Folmer (Ass. Professor and

general presentation on audio games and blind accessible game design,
Thomas Westin showed some nifty things with games controlled with your
mental abilities (using brainwaves), Goran talked about the future of
accessible educational games, and Dimitris and Giannis shared their
experiences and possible future steps in the Universally Accessible Games
project. And to end with a bang, Eelke showed some new insights to ac

possible guidelines (although in a usability format this time).

In the audience was none other than game veteran Ernest Adams himself.
Ernest is about to publish his new book (http://tinyurl.com/h9b26) which
will feature an appendix on (more) accessible game design.

One newsitem I am very proud to announce is that of the GDC Accessibility
Idols. The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the biggest game design
related conference in the world (and no, the E3 is a consumer expo where
all new and future games are on display - the E3 is where publishers go to
sell their games (and designers go to get drunk, and the GDC is where
designers go to get serious about their design (and eventually get drunk
as well).
The IGDA GA-SIG (www.igda.org/accessibility) has managed to set up an
amazing event for next years GDC and it is called Accessibility Idols.
For this event, very famous game designers are asked to design an
accessible game. The games will then be presented before a huge crowd and
judged by an expert panel. Although I can''t really name any names yet,
rumour has it that none other than Ernest Adams (see above) and Keita
Takahashi (the creator of Katamari Damacy) might be amongst the designers
to take on the challenge. Also see this month's issue of E-Access

Very pleased you're enjoying the tables. Old Man Stanley's House
does appear to be the overall favorite. It was a lot of fun to put
together. My own personal favorite is the DynaMan/ShockRa
table. Familiarity with the DynaMan game is definitely not required
to enjoy the pinball table. We hope to do more and varied things
with the DynaMan brand in the future.

I'm not very confident as a gamer, i think that's because i've only just
begun, but i've got a lot of help from my fiance and friends.

Just thought i'd send this to introduce myself.

  Hi all,
I don't know how many of you have been to VIP Conduit, but it is a
 voice
chat site for the blind, and Barry Jennings has recently programmed a
 voice
communicator from scratch that sounds better than any chat software I
 have
 heard.
It has all kinds of cool features, one of which is the ability to send
text chat messages to individual users as you voice chat.
Anyhow, I thought you guys might want to check it out and consider VIP
Conduit as a meeting place for the gamers chat events.
  The website is www.vipConduit.com

Hello there those updates were trimendous. Lots of detail as to what's
happening, no definite release dates well apart from s t f c, just some
hopeful ones so nobody can jump down your throat over it. I'm really looking

 USA Games News

 5/2/2006
 Introduction

 Hello gamers,
This week I have some good news and some bad news. I have allot to cover
about Final Conflict, Jedi Strike, and Montezuma's Revenge so I'll get
 started.

 Final Conflict

 Hello gamers,
As I sit here writing up this update I feel I must share a little bad
news before getting in to some good news about STFC. So I will cut to
the chase and get in to what is going wrong before I discuss what is
 going right.
As many of you know I am expected to release a patch for STFC soon.
Unfortunately, that may not happen so soon after all. There are a number
of build and runtime errors that must be corrected before the patch can
 be released. So what happened?
Well, as I mentioned a week or so ago I am trying to update the STFC
engine by including new versions of the same classes etc from
Montezuma's Revenge. Unfortunately, I made a number of major changes
that completely broke compatibility with the older STFC engine. Which
means to correct it I have to go in by hand and fix every build error,
and update the code to work with the new classes. It is a major job!
Do to the massive breakage in the code I haven't even had a chance to
fix as many of the miner bugs as I would like. If you guys wouldn't mind
waiting a little longer I'm considering just keeping the beta patch in
house until I really shake it down for bug fixes. Then, release a
completely new installer file with all the changes and updates.
As promised here is the good news. I think we are coming very very close
to a 1.0 release. After these bugs are worked out, and when I can
acquire the licensing software I wish to use I plan to release STFC 1.0.
My hope is to have it out late summer 2006. For sure it will be out
 before Christmas.

 Jedi Strike

Many of you have emailed the USA Games sales department about the status
of this title. So I felt it was time to renew discussion on this topic.
After all the project has seamed to gotten pushed aside since the
acquiring of Raceway and Montezuma's Revenge. So here is our public
 response.
For those who worry we have dropped this title we have not. In fact,
just this week I did some miner updates to the SWJS engine. I added the
new audio class library used by the Monty and STFC engines, updated the
input class library used by Monty, and updated the world class which
gives me greater control over the creation of the game world. Such as
placing dropped items which the Jedi/player can find and collect.
One reason I took the trailer down for Jedi Strike is I have been
totally dissatisfied with the possible Revenge of the Sith story line
for the game. I have completely rewritten the story line for the game,
and I really like the new story line better. Perhaps you can write in
and let me know what you think of this story line.
Long long ago in a galaxy far far away.
The great galactic emperor ruled by Emperor Palpatine has been defeated
by the heroic Rebellion. Now, many years later the New Republic has
reclaimed 75% of the galaxy, and Jedi Master Luke Skywalker has
established a new Jedi academy on Yavin IV. You have been sent to Yavin
to train with Jedi Master Skywalker, but while in training a new and
sinister dark force has arisen which will shadder the galactic peace.
Deep in the outer systems a new Lord of the Sith has secretly began a
new Sith academy to train dark Jedi. He has allied himself with Admiral
Dolla and other high ranking members of the old Imperial command.
Together with the remnants of the old Empire he has plans to wage war
against the New Republic and to wipe out the Jedi Knights forever.
As part of your training you will be sent on missions to gather
intelligence, foil an assassination attempt on Chief of State Leia
Arganna Solo, rescue a missing Jedi strike team, chase down and defeat
dark Jedi, locate the new Sith academy, and much much more.
Some of you may wonder were my inspiration for this game came from, and
I must confess much of it comes from the games that came out by Lucas
Arts in the late 90's such as Dark Forces and Jedi Knight. Although, my
story is a little different don't be surprised if you end up seeing a
few characters and places from those games.
 Anyway, the

So is race way the same as light cars where you pick up items and avoid
hazards? Because top speed is a race without these objects and hazards.

Except joy stick and steering wheel support, what is there in race way
that there isn't in top speed? I understand race way is a retail game.
Thomas I remember you said in race way you have joy stick support
 which
you don't have in top speed. Personally I don't prefer a joy stick.
 The
keyboard is much easier to work with in games for me. I have played
 tv
games with the assistance of sighted friends and with that experience
 I
can say that a joy stick won't work for me. If joy stick support is
 the
only difference in race way, then it means I can't spend money on
 it
if it's the same as top speed, right?

No. Those guys all have been dead for years by the time this game takes
place. Time line wize it takes place sometime between Jedi Academy
triligy and the New Jedi Order. In fact, it is much earlier than NJO
since Admiral Dolla is a character in the game, and her last appearence
was in Planet of Twilight. Which had a sucky end to Dolla's character. I
liked her better in the Jedi Academy series and Dark Saber.
