Re: [Audyssey] Bavisoft games.

2016-01-30 Thread dark

Hi Lori.

Doesn't f5 skip you past most any fight in the game? I can't recall. The
rattle snakes are faster and harder to hear than the thugs, and you have
far more of them to get through, though I did manage eventually.

I suppose I might go back to the bavisoft games at some point just for
familiarity, like rewatching a film you like or rereading a favourite book.

All the best,

Dark.

Hi everyone, I'm just curious to know if anyone still plays any of the
games from Bavisoft? I know they've gone bust, but I must confess to
still liking the silune in Grisley Gultch, and I actually think that game
has more replay value than Chillingham did. There is a problem though, I
always manage to get to the final job the Marshal has for me no problem,
but I just can't for the life of me get passed the rattle snake attacks,
no matter how hard I try. I used the f12 key and set it to 7, which does
me find for the robbers coming at me, but the snakes seem to come much
faster for some reason. There's also a really interesting bug on the slot
machine, I only had $20 left, and when I placed my bet for the whole 20, I
won 40, but then Dug told me I was broke and I got kicked out lol. That's
never happened before, and I don't think running win7 would have caused it
to crop up.

I'd just love a cheat to get passed those darned rattle snakes, they're so
time consuming, and if you fail you've to start the whole darned mission
over again. Thank god for recent games which allow you to save on the
spot! :)

Hi Kelly, I seem to remember you doing a really great review of
Chillingham and Grisley Gultch, that's what got me interested in them,
then my parents managed to get me both games as a birthday presant,
however my Chillingham cd is also lost in the vaults of my bedroom! I
totally agree with you, that ending was pretty pathetic, almost as though
it had been written by someone completely different who wasn't even
involved in the rest of the story. One thing I liked about your
Chillingham review though was the way inwhich you delbt with the bad guys
like the wolves and vampires and witches. The in game voices for both
games were good too, but I seriously ended up wanting to throw that old
Bill the Hermit guy to the gaters! Most people would be happy with an
anti alergy pill, a pat on the back or a glass of water, but oh no, not
old bill lol. having said all that I do prefer games with more controls
than just 4 keys you hit over and over again.

I pulled the games via extralegal means.
They were beaten but then I lost interest in like 3 days.
To be honest there are a lot of games sort of like that now.
I don't care if no one makes a sequal or not.
If someone made all of their titles again fine but the controls are old,
the concepts are old and the games are old.

They died with xp.
And after not responding to us for ages and ages ican pulled their website.
Why would we want to revive anything made by one of our first
spectacular gaming company faliers.

It would be like me eating yesterdays trash.
Get over it.
Sorry about the rant but bavisoft is bavigone and baviscrewed.
I want it to stay dead.

it's under the shell and don't know how to tell 1 shell from another.
My sister also does a cracking impression of the bank manager, she can
whistle like that, but I can't seem to crack it. :)

One thing that I do remember about Gruzly Gulch is that the game was
designed for a new gamer. Very few keystrokes are needed to play, and
there
is no learning curve. The sounds are good. I felt that it sicceeded
as far
as game design. It wasn't an intricate game, but wasn't intended to be.

Hi Kelly, I seem to remember you doing a really great review of
Chillingham and Grisley Gultch, that's what got me interested in
them, then my parents managed to get me both games as a birthday
presant, however my Chillingham cd is also lost in the vaults of my
bedroom! I totally agree with you, that ending was pretty pathetic,
almost as though it had been written by someone completely different
who wasn't even involved in the rest of the story. One thing I liked
about your Chillingham review though was the way inwhich you delbt
with the bad guys like the wolves and vampires and witches. The in
game voices for both games were good too, but I seriously ended up
wanting to throw that old Bill the Hermit guy to the gaters! Most
people would be happy with an anti alergy pill, a pat on the back or
a glass of water, but oh no, not old bill lol. having said all that
I do prefer games with more controls than just 4 keys you hit over
and over again.

Hi Lori,

Even though I haven't played the games from Bavisoft in a very long
time, I
remember those snakes from Grizzly Gulch very well. You can get past
them,
but it requires careful listening. Don't feel bad, it took me a few
tries
myself.

As for Chillingham, I think my CD is lost, but it really doesn't
matter. I
honestly never want to play it again. I think what really ruined that
game
for me was the part where you had to get a certain number of bugs for
the
professor, who then wants you to go back and get more. And more! And
even
more! At one point, I was almost yelling, "Hey! You want more? Go and
get
them yourself!" That, and the cliffhanger ending, which of course was
never
resolved since the promised sequel was never released.
I'll admit, though, it was great getting emails from users asking for
hints
on how to complete the game because they couldn't contact Bavisoft.

Thanks.

Lol everytime that piece of music comes on the radio I'm reminded of
Chillingham, forget what it's called, but it's the one which is used in the
main menu. Game developers in those days, did they think blind people had
nothing better to do than repeat the same boring puzzles over and over
again? My main gripe was the hermit and the simon says thing with his
hickups, I'm rubbish at remembering sounds, but the whole repetitiveness of
the thing drove me mad!

Hi everyone, I'm just curious to know if anyone still plays any of the games
from Bavisoft? I know they've gone bust, but I must confess to still liking
the silune in Grisley Gultch, and I actually think that game has more replay
value than Chillingham did. There is a problem though, I always manage to
get to the final job the Marshal has for me no problem, but I just can't for
the life of me get passed the rattle snake attacks, no matter how hard I
try. I used the f12 key and set it to 7, which does me find for the robbers
coming at me, but the snakes seem to come much faster for some reason.
There's also a really interesting bug on the slot machine, I only had $20
left, and when I placed my bet for the whole 20, I won 40, but then Dug told
me I was broke and I got kicked out lol. That's never happened before, and
I don't think running win7 would have caused it to crop up.

I'd just love a cheat to get passed those darned rattle snakes, they're so
time consuming, and if you fail you've to start the whole darned mission
over again. Thank god for recent games which allow you to save on the spot!

Hi Lori,

Even though I haven't played the games from Bavisoft in a very long time, I
remember those snakes from Grizzly Gulch very well. You can get past them,
but it requires careful listening. Don't feel bad, it took me a few tries
myself.

As for Chillingham, I think my CD is lost, but it really doesn't matter. I
honestly never want to play it again. I think what really ruined that game
for me was the part where you had to get a certain number of bugs for the
professor, who then wants you to go back and get more. And more! And even
more! At one point, I was almost yelling, "Hey! You want more? Go and get
them yourself!" That, and the cliffhanger ending, which of course was never
resolved since the promised sequel was never released.
I'll admit, though, it was great getting emails from users asking for hints
on how to complete the game because they couldn't contact Bavisoft.

Thanks.

One thing that I do remember about Gruzly Gulch is that the game was
designed for a new gamer. Very few keystrokes are needed to play, and there
is no learning curve. The sounds are good. I felt that it sicceeded as far
as game design. It wasn't an intricate game, but wasn't intended to be.

Hi Kelly, I seem to remember you doing a really great review of
Chillingham and Grisley Gultch, that's what got me interested in them,
then my parents managed to get me both games as a birthday presant,
however my Chillingham cd is also lost in the vaults of my bedroom! I
totally agree with you, that ending was pretty pathetic, almost as though
it had been written by someone completely different who wasn't even
involved in the rest of the story.

I still play both of those games, but haven't got that far yet, so can't
help with the snake issue, sorry.

:)

From Lori.

Re: [Audyssey] Bavisoft Games

2014-10-20 Thread john

I know that the site of bavisoft was shuft down completely due to a complaint
which was filed a while back. I would suggest you take a look at the
audiogames.net forum for more info on that.
I'm not certain how the folks hear would feel about distributing the bavisoft titles, so I'd rather hold off on posting them myself until I get a confirmation. That said, given that the company has been shut down legally, and everything else that's
gone on with them, how would the moderators feel if I were to post links for downloads of isos?

[Audyssey] Bavisoft games not working correctly.

2008-01-20 Thread James Scholes
Hi, I have the 2 Bavisoft games on CD, but when I try to install them, it takes
about 10 minutes for the installer to load up, and then it doesn't install
correctly on my system. When I am playing the game, it seems a bit sluggish on
things like target practice and gun fighting. Anyone know what the problem is?
Before I reformatted my hard drive, when I installed the games it didn't
install all of the sound files, and I fear that this is the same problem. I
might just have a bad copy of the games, but they came directly from Bavisoft,
so not sure what the problem could be.
