Re: [Audyssey] sryth and ridiculous melee ratings

Hi Bryan,
It certainly sounds like it. I'll be looking into boosting both weapons
and slashing very soon. Once i finish Daggerspire weapons will be up to
50 and slashing should be not far behind that.

Bryan Peterson wrote:
That's a wise decision. The higher you can get your Weaponry skills,

seventy slashing I've seen temp boosts as high as forty-five. That basically
insures that even if you hae a really unlucky roll you'll still hit for a
decent amount of damage that round. You'll still take damage but at least
the enemy won't escape that round unscathed, even if they don't take a lot
 of damage.

2008-06-15 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Bryan,
yeah, I sort of see that. I am working on the Daggerspire adcventure
right now and I am strongly thinking of dumping all the experience earnd
from that adventure into my weapon skills to bring both of them up to 50
each, or as close to it as possible. Weapons is 45 and weapon slashing
is 42 so I should be able to at least bring one of those skills up to 50
after completing level 5 of the Dagger spire adventure.

Bryan Peterson wrote:

the skill in magic you want. One of my characters has level seventy in
Restoration as a matter of fact and she's also seventy in Weaponry,
Slashing, Woodsmanship and Thievery. I don't think she's got a single skill

Oh no, you can still go through that. Just visit Yulia at the Dragonhill
Fields and then you'll have the option to speak to Solundor. I'd
 definitely
advise it since not only are the Phantom items a nice addition to your
collection, but the EXP reward for the tournament itself is quite nice.
 And
the best part about the Phantom Items is that they're trainable up to a
maximum level of four, meaning that if both the armor and weapon you
 attach
it to have an MR boost that's a total of eight added to your MR, not to
mention four to whatever other stats the armor might provide.

Re: [Audyssey] sryth and ridiculous melee ratings

2008-06-13 Thread Thomas Ward
hi Liam,
Well, a lot of it comes down to what weapons and armor you have. There
are some really good weapons and armor in the game that gives you major
boosts in mr and stamina. Also it depends on where you put your
experience points. If you put all your exp into melee rather than
magical powrs your mr is going to get very high pretty fast. If you are
like me and put your exp into powers then your melee is going to be
lower than your magical abilities. My main character Catherine is a grey
mage for the order of the Gray Circle and her magical powers is much
better than melee.

2008-06-12 Thread Karl
Hi,
Here a few things that will help:
1. Boost your general weaponry, and the specific weaponry subskill that your
weapon requires. For example, I have 70+ in both Weaponry and Weaponry
slashing so I get a +14 to my Melee rating whenever I use a slashing weapon.
2. Get a weapon with a MR over 20.
3. Get the best shield you can.
4. Several other types of armor, Mostly neck, tings, and tabbards, will give
you MR boosts.
HTH,
Karl

Oh no, you can still go through that. Just visit Yulia at the Dragonhill
Fields and then you'll have the option to speak to Solundor. I'd
 definitely
advise it since not only are the Phantom items a nice addition to your
collection, but the EXP reward for the tournament itself is quite nice.
 And
the best part about the Phantom Items is that they're trainable up to a
maximum level of four, meaning that if both the armor and weapon you
 attach
it to have an MR boost that's a total of eight added to your MR, not to
mention four to whatever other stats the armor might provide.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

Solundor' was a one time event, right?
I think I missed out on that.

It's really not that hard to do if you use your EXP and Adventurer
 Tokens
well. You can even do it without donating. All but my latest character
 has
an MR in the 120s. It comes from getting Weaponry and SLashing up to
 sevety
(much easier to do than getting powers that high), Tallys' best shield
 and
 a
careful combination of other items. It's really quite doable. Oh and
 then
there are Solundor's Phantom items as well.

so I've noticed people have these ridiculously high melee ratings, and
 I'm
wondering, how are they getting ratings in to the mid 120's.
 any ideas?

As long as your MR is at least 110 you should be able to do fine. If you can
get your stamina at least that high as well you should be all right.
