Re: [Audyssey] game recording of Mysteries of the Ancients

2009-02-27 Thread Pranav Lal
Hi Thomas,

I did not light my torch since I thought that I would needed for some other
place. I was able to find the key, the shotgun and an ancient scroll without
any difficulty.

Re: [Audyssey] game recording of Mysteries of the Ancients

2009-02-26 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi,
Practice and experimentation. However, to be fair the user's guide needs
some further explanation on using torches as this is something almost
everyone universally missed this time round. I had assumed people would
figure out that the temple, the entire temple was dark, and experiment
with the torches and use them. No such luck. What really happened is
they began comparing the game to Montezuma's Revenge, which this game
has no relationship to, and assumed torches were to be used in specific
rooms. That assumption was false, and now I know what people are
thinking I can hopefully addressit in the manual for beta 2 and later. I
can answer these sorts of questions now I know what the questions are.

2009-02-26 Thread Charles Rivard
It's logical to think that there must be a way to light it, otherwise, of
what use would it be? Of course, there might be some items in the game that
you should not pick up, too. Some games are like that. (grin)

Hi Harry,
Interesting recording. Although, i did notice you didn't light your
first torch after finding it. That would have made it easier to find
things in the first three rooms, and plus would have showed new players
the correct way to play the game. I'm not coming down on you, but I am
also worried some may use your recording as an example and not play the
game in the way it was designed to be played by mistake. Please,
becareful of that in future recordings etc.
Smile.

I sometimes don't light my first torch either tom.
the reason is that although I can continue for a bit if I jump the ledge into
water the torch goes out anyway before its done burning.
