Yeah please put in Sapi support. Also please fix the numbers so that they are standard english numbers. - Original Message - From: Josh [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: gamers@audyssey.org Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2007 4:19 AM Subject: [Audyssey] sound rts other suggestion Hi, Instead of using a bunch of sound files, I think it would be easier where applicable to use sapi voices on the computer and to allow you to choose the voice you want, and set parameters like volume voice pitch and speed. Also, what about adding some music? you could use mp3 music, but I think to keep the game small, some midi music in midi files would be nice, also the volume of the midi could be controled or the music could be turned off completely. Re: [Audyssey] sound rts other suggestion
I listened to all the voices they offer and without exception they have such odd and/or funny intonation I couldn't live with them. Of course the voices we use in such as JAWS are more developed, but I was disappointed to see that these other voices have the problems unaddressed that we used to mock a decade or more ago. When the em Facis is put on the wrong SilLABLE it's really hard to listen to in my head. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Josh Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2007 1:33 PM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: Re: [Audyssey] sound rts other suggestion you can get some good voices at nextup.com for $35 or $40 a voice. [Audyssey] sound rts a suggestion
Hello, Well thanks to the tutorial I'm getting the hang of sound rts. But I have a suggestion, the sounds of the peasants building and walking and doing things is a bit quiet, it would be nice if you could raise and lower the volume of these sounds as well as I'd like the sounds to be louder than they are. I think the sounds of such things as fighting and other things are too quiet. except that unless you have the old vsc synth or yamaha xg50 then its crap on windows midi. Unless we want to start putting everything in mod and xm files and nes and c64 type, nes and c64 are old and bad but mods are semi ok.
