this may help. hold the control key down and then hit the tab key. this
should bring you into the output buffer, which will allow you to arrow up
and down the screen and see the text that the game has sent you.

to leave the Output buffer, push control again and tap the tab key.

I am a newbie playing Alter Aeon, using the mud MUSH-Z and I have a
question

I hope someone who is also playing can answer. I am using Jaws as a screen
reader but when text is written to the screen I am not able to read it a
second time with the jaws cursor. If I don't hear it the first time I am
out
of luck. Is there a way to review the screen with Jaws? I've tried it on

Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon Question

2015-01-17 Thread john
The output window is set up in a tabbed system, similar to dialogs in
control panel or other applications.
Control tab moves forward one tab, control shift tab moves back.
If you only have alter open in that instance of mushclient, there are only
the two tabs, so ctrl tab will alternate between them.

Hi sharren.

I've asked the same thing and the answer dentin is yes, since I don't enjoy
grouping myself.

For what class, well necros are usefull since their minians can provide a
lot of the functions other group members have such as casting spells,
however clerric skills are also usefull because of the healing and buffing
they can give, then, warriors have lots of hp.

Generally it's just a matter of choosing your gear and your stratogy right

Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon question

2013-01-07 Thread john
It's all about the equipment. In the long run, all classes are
pretty equal, though some take more skill and practice to play
properly. Necromancer is a great newbie class to start with,
especially if you build a clev set early. However, necromancer
isn't a catch-all class. Warriors end up being really powerful
once you get a decent hit set going, as well as mages if you
build a clev set for them. Personally I would not pick cleric as
a primary if you don't intend to group. Clerics have a lot of
buff/regeneration/group aimed spells, so they're nice to have as
a second or third class, but a lot of the xp you get from clerics
is while grouped. Thief would probably be your worst class if
you're new to the mud. In the long run, it's one of the safest
classes to play, but it takes a lot of understanding of how the
mud works, and what you need to do to succeed.

Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon question

2013-01-07 Thread john

HI Dark,
Just a couple things. Firstly, necromancer minions don't
really cast spells, unless you mean the familiar, which ends up
being rather limited. As regards soloing, while it's probably
possible to solo everything on the mud, there are things that
won't be soloable until you're well over 30 in all classes, and
have built up an extensive stash of equipment.

It's all about the equipment. In the long run, all classes are pretty
equal,
though some take more skill and practice to play properly. Necromancer is a
great newbie class to start with, especially if you build a clev set early.
However, necromancer isn't a catch-all class. Warriors end up being really
powerful once you get a decent hit set going, as well as mages if you build
a clev set for them. Personally I would not pick cleric as a primary if you
don't intend to group. Clerics have a lot of buff/regeneration/group aimed
spells, so they're nice to have as a second or third class, but a lot of
the
xp you get from clerics is while grouped. Thief would probably be your
worst
class if you're new to the mud. In the long run, it's one of the safest
classes to play, but it takes a lot of understanding of how the mud works,
and what you need to do to succeed.

2013-01-07 Thread Keith
you'll need a mud client, like mush z, the best thing to to is to go to
aleteraeon.org and then check out the info on that website. There is also a
walkthrough for the first 10 or so quests that will allow you to level up
and get used to doing things in the game pretty easily.

Re: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon Question

2008-04-21 Thread Stefen Hudson
Hi,

Not to my knowledge. I've actually pondered the idea of making a sound pack,
but a lot of the magic type sounds I find don't really sound like how I
imagine spells in Alter Aeon sounding. Actually, if you've heard of the
spell shard storm, I kind of imagine that sounding like a wind storm with
little shards of glass tinkling mixed in.
