Hi all, I received a new Iphone for my birthday, and I have figured
out how to use most of the functions, but I still have a ways to go
before I am proficient. Is there a game (preferably free) easy game
to learn more. That's what I did to learn W8, and it worked out well.
Everyone have a happy, rest of the weekend, and thanks in advance.
Oh yes, BTW, can someone give me a link or the address of AA, so I can
install it on my new computer. I haven't played in a long time, but I
just recently got a fully functional computer. Thanks again...(Smile)

Re: [Audyssey] An easy IPhone game

2014-04-27 Thread dark
there is a look tell tutorial available in the ap store which is specially
designed for getting used to vo gestures, not to mention the say it right
game from draconis.

I would also recommend having a look at some of the choiceofgames titles if
your a fan of interactive stories sinse they have very standard layout and
controls and are a good way of practicing reading basic pages and text.

If you want to get used to physical screen layout, you could also try the
card game lost cities, which indeed was the first Iphone game I bought. This
isn't difficult to use basic taps on, but there are distinct speed
advantages to walking your finger around the screen and getting used to
where certain things are in physicalspace which is obviously one advantage
with vo, for example you can always find the discard pile at the bottom
right corner.

Then again i confess my second Iphone game was king of dragon pass, which
was sort of jumping in at the deep end as far as vo goes, and yet I worked
it out so I personally wouldn't be too worried, actually I've been very
impressed at how intuative much of vo is, or at least I found it to be
though i know this isn't everyone's experience.

Beware the grue!

Dark.

Re: [Audyssey] An easy IPhone game

2014-04-27 Thread Phil Vlasak

Kimberly,
I recommend:
LookTel VoiceOver Tutorial

This free app provides a basic introduction to VoiceOver and the gestures
used throughout iOS. Persons new to VoiceOver and IOS are guided through the
tutorial with a pleasant mix of facts and entertainment. Once the app is
started with VoiceOver running, the text and elementary games provide a
practice of the basic gestures used with VoiceOver and iOS. As each new
gesture is introduced, it is accompanied by an interactive practice screen.
The core basics are covered:

tap, double-tap, and split-tap gestures
flick right and flick left
two-finger-double-tap
the rotor gesture
the up and down flick

A VoiceOver Basketball, and a VoiceOver Safe game provide opportunities to
practice these core gestures. An explanation of the use each gesture has in
iOS is provided, along with a summary of all the gestures introduced in this
tutorial.

This app may be used independently by anyone new to VoiceOver and iOS, or
within a class, seminar, or introductory instructional setting.

What's New in Version 2.0

Added second installment of VO tutorial with further gesture exploration
Added gestures:
1) Two-finger single tap
2) Two-finger flick up and down
3) Double-tap and hold
4) Three finger flick up, down, left and right
Improved responsiveness of rotor gesture in Safe game in first tutorial
Added table of contents to choose a tutorial to explore
Added an immersive Adventure and exploration game to teach more complex
gestures
Adventure game has visual elements to assist in gameplay for low-vision
customers
Added intro dialogue to alert non-VoiceOver users to turn on VoiceOver to
enhance use of the app

The web page:
http://www.looktel.com/vo-tutorial
Now available for all iPhone/iPod touch devices running iOS 5 and up
US iTune page:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/looktel-voiceover-tutorial/id598788231?mt=8
