Re: [Audyssey] Castaways: I Win!

2011-08-20 Thread Jeremy Kaldobsky
Excellent work Christina! Do you want to share the strategy you used to win?

I finally beat Mission Three of
 Castaways!
Granted, it was on Easy Mode, but still...
I'm going to try it once more on Easy and then move up to
 Normal.

Re: [Audyssey] Castaways: I Win!

2011-08-20 Thread Christina
Sure.
Let's see...
I don't remember the exact order I first put up buildings.
I remember starting with my usual of storehouse, quarry, sawmill, and then a
tavern.
I put up a butcher shop and then a tannery and a mine. I always like to get a
miner mining early to build up a supply of
ore.
I found that, unless I put up a tannery first, the cloth goes mostly to the
textile and I don't get any, or very much,
leather. I didn't build a textile until I had one tome started.

I think I also put up an animal farm and a stable before building the mill so
that wheat would build up in the first two
places.

I built a barracks as soon as I could. I didn't build a war tent until later
though I may change this strategy in future
games.

I tried to have several of each fighter though this didn't always work. I
finished with about 45 people. About three
fourths through the game, I had enough people doing other jobs that all my new
people became fighters.
HTH,
Christina

2011-08-20 Thread dark

ice Christina.

this is similar to the stratogy I tried, but because I had a multiplayer
doctor who's job I couldn't change, he kept on weaving firs into cloth
rather than having them go to make leather for pikemen, so my knights and
rangers were getting slaughtered.

i also did built a wartent, but never found it did enough good in terms of
stopping the enemy developing more troops which they seemed to do inhumanly
fast.

Re: [Audyssey] Castaways: I Win!

2011-08-20 Thread Christina
I didn't see any demonstrable effect with using the war tent either.
I sent my people on a raid and, right after they came back, I had 25 new enemy
fighters on my land. Before those were all
killed off, 25 more appeared.
Maybe I need to go on more raids?
