Well if you Have purchased Openbook 8 or Jaws 9 the full Sapi 5
version is found on the second cd containing several extra Scansoft
voices. Unfortunately, Jaws 10 and Jaws 11 only give you the
proprietary version that is locked to Jaws. What else is new from
Freedom Scientific right?

well thomas hal has also got locked voices so I suspect its more to do with
scansoft with licencing, ie if its locked to a product then its probably
easier and cheaper for a company to get more voices rather than having sapi
which means anyone can use it.

I'm pretty sure it is a licensing issue. I know that Nextup.com sell
the Real Speak voices from Scansoft as well, and those are locked to
TextAloud. If this is the case with TextAloud they probably have some
kind of licensing issue that prevents Freedom Scientific from
distributing the
www.nextup.com
