Re: [Audyssey] Mach1 was exciting free games - are theresuch things?

2008-11-04 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Ron,
Yeah, I know. A few years back I tried playing it on my Atari 7800 and I
couldn't play worth spit after losing my vision. All I managed to do is
run off the road and straight into the road signs on the sides of the
track. G...
You can sort of do it if you go slow and try and stay on the track by
doing miner adjustments, but even if you manage to stay on the track and
finish the qualifyer at the speed you are going you can't win the race.
It is truly a game that requires vision to play, and split second timing
to take the lead on the track.

Hi Thomas,

I also very much liked Pole Position. Truthfully though I can't remember right
now if I played it on my Atari 2600 or 800 XL. I never had a steering wheel
for any of my Atari machines. So now that I do have one, Top Speed 2 is the
only driving game that I have ever played with one. I never saw the NASCAR
Thunder game. Sure did wear out the Atari joysticks playing Pole Position
though.

Vote YES for braille on speed limit signs.

Hi Jim,
Well, I like racing games. I was very fond of Poll Position 1 and Poll
Position 2 for the Atari when they were popular. Compared to Nascar
Thunder they seam like a joke to us today, but man those games were fun.
I had a Colleco system with a stearing wheel and breaks and I darn near
wore the thing out racing in Poll Position 2 for Colleco.
