A lot of us found that out the hard way. As I understand it Windows Vista has drastic changes in vidio support, and these changes in vidio support breaks compatibility with some older games such as FS 2002. I'm not surprised because as a software developer myself I have seen lots of development changes between XP and Vista. Many older technologies are being removed and many other newer technologies are slowly being incorperated. For example, Microsoft's decision to begin removing DirectInput, DirectSound, DirectPlay, etc and replace them with XAudio, XInput, etc. So FS 2002 won't be the first nor the last program you might have that fails to work properly on Vista and the up coming Windows 7. Personally I think Microsoft is making too many changes too fast resulting in third party software developers to play catch up and update all of their software at once to target the newer Windows platforms. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org. Re: [Audyssey] Sad gaming news
yeah it would be. I would really like a alternitive to fsnav. I'd actually like some actual audio interface for fsx and other things, because right now I need to use jaws and jaws with fsnav is well its a load of work. I just want to play but yeah it would be good to get something like this done. At 10:37 p.m. 6/10/2008, you wrote: >I wish there was an alternitive program that'd work with FSX. I wish there was an alternitive program that'd work with FSX. It's kinda cool because with that game you don't just fly, you've got missions and stuff, so it'd be cool to complete missions instead of just flyingaround the world. Re: [Audyssey] Sad gaming news
Lindsay, Microsoft ended support for it before vista was released, so it won't work for deffinet, and it can't be fixed I suspect. On my old machine, which was windows xp home sp2, it worked fine. I bought a windows vista home premium PC this year and now I can't play it because it isn't compatible. I am so upset, I loved that game.
