Hi. There's nothing wrong with high definnition in itself. I think it's just your audio device being an idiot. I'm useing high definition audio on a 350 dollar computer here and I'm not having a single problem with it, except wicked inaccessability of the finer adjustment controls in the realtech sound manager under control pannel. Hi. tried turning off the uaa bus and the wireless thing. both did not work, in fact the hd bus being off got me nothing at all. and on turning it back on things got corrupted and I needed to reload my entire speech system. And reselect the sound card. Oh well I have got rid of most of the crackling. Hopefully I will inherrit a old desktop in the next year or so. it has a realtech ac97 card in it and its not high def.
