I should have. I'm superstitious about the unis and when I saw on Facebook
they'd revealed the all-white look, I commented that it gave me a bad

I scratched my head about that as well. Is there a reason other than etiquette?
I say, if they're not lined up, too bad.

There was one drive in particular where we had either 3 or 4 third and
two situations and made them all by a 1/2 yard or so. Yes that's good
but after all that we didn't get a score.

Charlie, I agree about these drives that seem to be chock full of converted

YES, we did. 7 out of 14 times.
1st downs only by series:
1) Driskel rush for 6.
2) Driskel pass complete to Patton for 9
3) Brown rush 1
4) Driskel pass complete to Showers for 3
5) brown rush for 3
6) Driskel pass completion to Dunbar for 4
2nd Half
7) Showers rush for 8
8) Driskel pass to
Took away any effective runs. It might have been 3 yards a carry, but 3x3
does not equal a first down. And we couldn't run at all in the red zone,
save Driskel's TD run.

Even as bad as Saturday was, I figured we had to have more than 14 first
downs. :-)

If you take the sacks out of the run totals and apply them to the passing

Actually, it was 17 rushes, 15 passing plays on first downs.
1st quarter
-Driskel rush for 6
-Driskel pass for 22
-Jones rush for 0
-Showers rush for -1
-Driskel pass for 9
-Driskel pass incomplete
-Driskel pass for 3
-Jones rush for 4
2nd quarter
Burton rush for -3
Brown rush for 3
Brown rush
I remember one 1st down pass in 2nd half but it was caught out of bounds.
Also agree about those uniforms- white and orange

Yeah, that was driving me crazy too. We needed all the breaks we could get, so
why not snap quickly? Once the ball is spotted, I'm pretty sure you can snap
when you're ready.

Yeah, you could see the play when it happened. It was when he ran left toward
the sideline and that defender landed in him really hard. He got up slightly
limping and looked stiff for a couple of plays. I was worried he was going to
leave the game then. The announcers didn't comment on it,
Stephen, you bring up some good points and I think we'll all see what
the future will bring as we play out the season.
Probably the worse thing that ever happened to Illinois was when Zook
had a big year and went to the Rose Bowl. It delayed the inevitable
(IMO) and they had to grin and bear it
