Maybe they are distinguishing between inside linebackers and outside
linebackers (that mainly play up on the line). Do they still have outside
linebackers?

Don’t most defenses play more than 2 linebackers? I don’t mean over the course
of the game to stay fresh, I mean at the same time.
Whether a 4-3 or a 3-4, we need more than 2 linebackers unless we want to play
a nickel defense all game.
