One often wonders of the motives behind the most homophobic people and this case will make one wonder even more, Vikram Boy Scouts Executive Surrenders in Fort Worth on a Child Pornography Charge By RALPH BLUMENTHAL HOUSTON, March 29 - The longtime program director of the Boy Scouts of America and chairman of its Youth Protection Task Force has surrendered on a federal charge of receiving and distributing child pornography on the Internet, the United States attorney's office in Fort Worth said Tuesday. The director, Douglas Sovereign Smith Jr., 61, who was put on leave last month and quietly retired March 1, was expected to plead guilty on Wednesday to the single felony count filed by federal prosecutors, a crime that can carry a prison term of 5 to 20 years, said Kathy Colvin, a spokeswoman for the United States attorney's office. Ms. Colvin said that a prosecutor's filing, rather than a grand jury indictment, was commonly used to charge a defendant when a guilty plea was anticipated. The filing charges Mr. Smith with knowingly receiving and sending computer images which contained photographs of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Mr. Smith, program director since 1996 and a scouting official for 39 years, did not respond to a message left on his telephone in Colleyville, near Fort Worth. His lawyer, Jack Strickland, also did not return calls but told The Associated Press: He's not taking this well. I've got to tell you, this is a good man and I would hate to see the entirety of his life and the good things he's done defined by one incident. Gregg Shields, a spokesman for the Boy Scouts, which has its national headquarters in Irving, a Dallas suburb, said: We're shocked and disappointed. Never in our recollection has an employee ever been charged with anything like this. Mr. Shields said that Mr. Smith had held an administrative post that coordinated Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts programs with churches and schools and did not involve leading troops. He's always been a good employee, Mr. Shields said. He said there was no record of accusations against Mr. Smith. Mr. Shields said the Scouts learned of the investigation in a visit by agents from the Department of Homeland Security in February and put Mr. Smith on administrative leave. Shortly thereafter he chose to retire, Mr. Shields said. Ms. Colvin said the investigation had been carried out under Operation Predator, an initiative announced in 2003 by the Department of Homeland Security to protect children from pornographers, child prostitution rings, Internet predators, alien smugglers, human traffickers and other criminals. The operation's investigative agency is the department's Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which coordinates enforcement actions from what it calls its CyberSmuggling Center in Fairfax, Va. Court records show that the prosecutor's information was filed March 21 and that Mr. Smith surrendered on Friday, when he appeared before Judge Charles Bleil in United States District Court in Fort Worth and was released pending an arraignment on Wednesday. Mr. Shields said he did not know the jobs Mr. Smith held in the organization before becoming national program director. He said the organization had some 7,000 employees and about 1.5 million volunteers. In November 2002, according to a Boy Scouts posting on the Web, Mr. Smith, identifying himself as National Director of Program and Chairman, Youth Protection Task Force, sent Scouts executives a letter announcing a groundbreaking initiative for youth protection and expansion of our offering of programs to protect youth. As of February 2003, Mr. Smith said, scout leaders, parents and other volunteers could go to the Internet for a training course on protecting scouts while out on tours and trips. He expressed confidence that the Web site would prove helpful in providing the most wholesome possible environment for young people. When five boy scouts were among 17 young people honored with Congressional Award Gold Medals in 1999, Mr. Smith accompanied the group to Washington and posed with them for a photo in Statuary Hall. Mr. Smith also responded on behalf of the Boy Scouts in September 2004 when a lawyer and onetime Eagle Scout, Bruce D. There is concern within the medical community that foreskin may additionally trap infected substances (such as lube, and other things too disgusting to mention) thereby harboring the virus and keeping it in contact with these susceptible Langerhans cells. What this means, ultimately, is that men who have intact foreskins are much more likely to become infected with HIV if their penis comes in contact with any fluid carrying the virus. Obviously, that includes blood, semen, tears, sweat, and saliva. This list has a recent and dangerous addition to it: rectal secretions. More on that in a moment. The good news is that HIV-Negative uncut tops, and all HIV-Negative topmen for that matter, can practice good sexual hygiene and reduce this risk. Immediately following intercourse (or, ideally, insertive sex of any kind) you should wash your entire penis with a good but gentle antibacterial soap. Some piercing salons have a good antibacterial and hypo-allergenic cleanser designed for use during a piercing's healing process. This liquid cleanser is gentle to the skin as it has to be able to come in direct contact with the wound without irritating or inflaming it. This same type of soap may be preferable in cleansing the sensitive foreskin. Good sexual hygiene is even more imperative following an orgy or gangbang where you might be dipping into more than one semen-filled hole in the course of the evening. Previous thinking that a 1-on-1 sexual encounter between HIV-Negative and HIV+Positive individuals could be relatively safe depended in great part on several factors. First, that the HIV-Negative partner would be the top. Second, no other person's semen or blood could be present inside the bottom's rectum. Third, that a liberal amount of non-irritating lubricant was employed during the fuck. And fourth that the top could be gentle enough during penetration to minimize the risk of or prevent any trauma to the bottom's rectum. But there is yet another newly found threat that is going to challenge that belief... RECTAL SECRETIONS, ANOTHER WORRISOME BODY FLUID: A new finding, recently released, suggests that rectal secretions may contain a higher concentration of HIV virus that any of the more well-known body fluids we have been told to avoid. Researchers say that blood, semen, sweat, tears, and saliva each carry a smaller percentage of the virus than the amount which is being found residing in rectal secretion fluid. Additionally, the studies showed that rectal secretion HIV levels are not nearly as affected by AIDS medications in the way blood plasma or semen HIV levels are. What exactly are rectal secretions? Well, your rectum keeps itself moist and supple by secreting a sort of mucosa. The design of this of course is to provide lubrication that will help solid waste find its way out of your body with relative ease. A byproduct of this design is that, as with saliva, more mucosa can come to the aid of the rectum during intercourse. You've heard the terms 'make me wet' and 'juicy ass'? Yep, that's what they are alluding to, more or less. So what the study has determined is that these wonderful natural ass juices that help make bareback fucking so irrisistable can contain what is perhaps the highest concentration of HIV in an infected person's body. Steve is shopping for a new motorcycle. He finally finds one for a great price, but its missing a seal, so whenever it rains he has to smear Vaseline over the spot where the seal should be. Anyway, his girlfriend is having him over for dinner to meet her parents. He drives his new bike to her house, where she is outside waiting for him. No matter what happens at dinner tonight, don't say a word, She tells him, Our family had a fight a while ago about doing dishes. We haven't done any since, but the first person to speak at dinner has to do them. Steve sits down for dinner and it is just how she described it. Dishes are piled up to the ceiling in the kitchen, and nobody is saying a word. So Steve decides to have a little fun. He grabs his girlfriend throws her on the table and drills her in front of her parents. His girlfriend is a little flustered, her dad is obviously livid, and her mom horrified when he sits back down, but no one says a word. A few minutes later he grabs her mom throws her on the table and does a repeat performance. Now his girlfriend is furious, her dad is boiling, and her mother a little happier. But still there is complete silence at the table. All of a sudden there is a loud clap of thunder, and it starts to rain. Steve remembers his motorcycle. He jumps up and grabs his jar of Vaseline. Upon witnessing this, his girlfriend's father backs away from the table and screams, OKAY, ENOUGH ALREADY. I'LL DO THE DISHES!! It is a movie about being rejected by most of ones family because they can not come to terms with the situation. It is a depressing movie about an aspect of our sexuality that we are always trying to gloss over. So why the hell are we at GB organising a film outing to see my Brother Nikhil. Because... ...it tells the story about a sisters love that transcends all the boundaries. ...it tells the story about a gay lovethat survives the trauma and tragedy that befalls the protagonists. ... it deals with the subject of homosexuality without trivialisingit into a joke while not adopting a shrill and strident political pro-gay posture. It is a straightforward movie about relationships with a backdrop of homosexuality and HIV and is stunningly told by debutant director Onir. So join GayBombay as we show the world that we care about EVERY BROTHER NIKHIL. Tickets will be bought at the time of the movie so please do try and come in by about 10:00 so that we can co-ordinate.
