Chris, GDAL 1.9 is trunk so I built from source. You need to first install subversion, a compiler and other things to compile software. Once you have the proper environment, then for the basic GDAL build (which would not include mdb of any sort) it is not too difficult and there are directions

Hi List I'm hoping someone can help me make ogr work under Linux with the PGeo driver, so I can read an ESRI Personal Database .mdb file into Mapserver. I can see from old posts that the basic problem is that MDBTools is a bit 'flaky' and needs a DSN based connection rather than connecting
