I have tinkered with the arm 7tdmi instruction set on keil uvision, but I don't 
know that I would be much help as most of what I did was pretty much bare metal 
and didn't have the functionality you're talking about as I just implemented  
serial data stream to the gpio. I'm interested in your progress though.

Yes. I develop in Objective-C so that's not a big deal. Embedded
development seems to be mostly in C which also isn't a problem.

The problem with my project seems to be with picking and choosing the
appropriate components and chips and subsequently designing a board to hold
them. There are many combinations and not all of them work together.
