On that page, clicking the link is a request to upload the file, not
download it. Ian made a copy of the zip at

I’m the author of the material that appears at …/wiki/Interfaces/JTask. It’s
from 2009 and seemed to be of use to some at the time. Since then I’ve been
working on other things. Complaints, kudos et al probably went to my old email
address mikepow...@shaw.ca . Which I haven’t read
(or been able to read) for some years now. I should have updated that.

But, I’m willing to revisit this. A good starting point would be to know why
this looks like a candidate to be discarded.

I tried downloading the referenced zip file but it asked that I log in first.
(Why?) I appear to have lost my record of my credentials and was unable to log
in. Perhaps someone, could guide me here. Help, please.

Re: [Jgeneral] JHS access

2021-12-01 Thread Thomas Arneson
It works fine for me, using Chrome browser

run next line to open this script
   edit'~addons/ide/jhs/spx/plot.ijs'

there are independent sections - you can skip around
spx':' NB. run a line to skip to corresponding section
spx':viewmat'
spx':plot'
spx':jd3'
spx':gnuplot'
spx':gc'
spx':webgl'

spxsection:viewmat

[Jgeneral] JHS access

2021-12-01 Thread Eric Iverson
If not too difficult, please try using chrome or firefox.

If you have not previously used JHS on this machine, and if you might have
changed/tightened intranet security settings, you might want to look at the
following.
***
If you also face the “Hmm, we can’t reach the page.” issue on your Windows
10 tablet or computer, try the workaround to get it working.
* Press Win + R from your keyboard, type *inetcpl.cpl* into Run dialog box,
and click OK button. You can also open the Control Panel, and go to
Internet Options.
* Switch to the Security tab of Internet Properties window.
* Click on Local Intranet > Sites, and uncheck two boxes with “Include all
local (intranet) sites not listed in other zones” and “Include all sites
that bypass the proxy server”, and click OK.
* Then select Trusted sites option, and click Sites button.
* In Add this website to the zone heading, type your local IP address, and
click Add, then Apply > OK button to finish it. For example, my router use
the static address 192.168.1.1 with the 8000 port. So I type
192.168.1.1:8000 for that. If you would like to setup wildcard entries,
type 192.168.1.* into the zone area.
* Finally you need to make a rebooting to take effect with the Edge browser
and everything should runs normally.

[Jgeneral] JHS fails

2021-12-01 Thread Eric Iverson
Pascal,
1. Have you run JHS on that machine successfully before the last JHS update?

2. you should not be doing anything with Jqt to sort this out.

3. Please confirm that you get a jconsole window that says:
J HTTP Server - init OK

Ctrl+c here signals an interrupt to J.

Browse to: http://127.0.0.1:65001/jijx

4. When you browse to that url what does the browser page say?

5. any messages about security or allowing?

6. try browsing to: http://localhost:65001/jijx
