Yes, at some point. I have no idea how they manage to depend on it though,
since it was a fairly internal module in Merlin.

This report by Maven is highly strange, since I can't find that
 Excalibur has a velocity dependency.

In my experience this tends to happen quite often.

commons-xo has been building with a far smaller set of dependencies
using Ant than the Maven project file required. Same is true for a
few other Maven projects I looked into.

Ok. But in this case this dependencies has appeared out of nowhere, since
those excalibur projects used to build in Gump with Maven, and AFAIK no
changes has been made to them... IMHO, quite weird.

Hmmm, instead of getting rid of it, can we just continue to improve it?
I mean I spent a few days on that script, it's not perfect, sure, but
it's a lot better than what we had before.

What about reverting and putting a WARNING sign until we complete the

This stems from the old days when SF.net CVS was so flaky. Basically, if we
attempt to do a CVS|SVN update and fail -- but we have old code
(yesterdays) -- we look the other way (setting this error message below). If
we didn't we'd been sending out failures (and not building trees) with no
real reason (just a suspicion.)
Error *** Failed to update from source control. Stale contents ***

We probably ought only allow this to occur for a finite period.

regards,

Adam
