[KIE] Code import question
Hey all, I was reading the Initial Code Import document[1] and while it says Infra needs the code attached to a JIRA ticket (after the SGA or CCLA has been completed), it also seems to say that you can pull all of it in via a GitHub export-> import operation[2]. So, my questions: 1) Is a direct import allowed? 2) If this is yes, I should then create the JIRA ticket to build the "receiving" Apache repos, and attach the SGA to that, correct? 3) Cleanup can happen after the code is imported, correct? Thanks for your help! Re: New Mentor Question: IP Clearance
Yes, so I looked through the thread PJ sent, and it points to the same page I mentioned as being unclear. Dave, you also specified there is a separate process: "Mentors should ensure that any SGA or IP diligence needed is filed and reported as part of the podling status file." I assume by podling status file, y'all mean this: https://incubator.apache.org/projects/kie.html ? Heh, the day I was on a plane and missed this... And it was on my project. :) Thanks! New Mentor Question: IP Clearance
As a Champion/Mentor for KIE, I need to start the IP clearance process, and the workflow described in the IP Clearance page[1] clearly states: "This form is not for new projects. This is for projects and PMCs that have already been created and are receiving a code donation into an existing codebase. Any code that was developed outside of the ASF SVN repository and our public mailing lists must be processed like this, even if the external developer is already an ASF committer. "Incubating projects should follow the procedure described in the incubator mentor guide and report status via STATUS tracking." Okay, cool, so I follow the link to the incubator mentor guide[2] and there's only a self-referencing anchor link about "Start IP clearance" The question: what is the procedure I need to follow? PPMC Member Question
We have a number of KIE contributors we need to add to the PPMC membership. As a matter of process, should I present those to the list en masse or one at a time? Re: Question on GitHub
Okay, but what if they have namespace issues with code pointing to their existing GH repos? We had asked about this a while back, and I thought the take away was we could keep the existing GH repos in place. Did I misunderstand? Question on GitHub
The KIE podling has a question that I don't know the answer to. They are wondering if they are required to mirror their source into the Apache GitHib organization? They will be hosting their code in their own GH repo, but they want to know if the mirror is necessary as well. New process: TLP Press Releases
All: In order to better accommodate the graduation process to TLP status, M has created a new set of guidelines for creating press announcements around a project's shift to TLP. I am sharing this template[1] with you all as general information. Any pre-TLP project that comes to M via Press@ will receive these guidelines at that time.
