I very much recommend getting reports and resolutions inserted into the
agenda, at the same time it is emailed to board@ ... There have been many
times where the Board has missed a resolution because it only went to the
mailing list.

If you don't have karma to insert it yourself, then just find somebody. Any

SVN commit is required AFAIK, but I've been told it has to go to the boards
ML first.

It just comes from my own experience of serving as an Incubator VP a few
years ago. What I used to do is to add proposed resolutions to the:
   foundation/board/board_agenda_.txt
when they came. Perhaps that wasn't a required step and posting of
a resolution to the board@ is all that needs to happen. Hence me asking
Ted to do the same here.

Would love for some of the board members on this list to set the record
straight on this one.

That actually already happened. Which means is that if the svn commit step
to board_agenda_.txt is NOT required -- we're all done.

Re: [FINAL] Incubator PMC Board Report - November 2016

2016-11-10 Thread Ted Dunning
Roman,

You keep referring to the IPMC board report and saying that "it" is in the
report and then you seem to be using "it" to refer to something else that
you want. It isn't at all clear what "it" might be.

Are you asking for an update to the IPMC board report for October? That
would seem to be the simplest explanation based on the text of what you
said.

Are you asking for something else?

Please be explicit this time around. Do not use pronouns.

2016-11-10 Thread John D. Ament
In addition, I'm a bit confused over the role you're expecting Ted to fill
on this one. When I read
http://incubator.apache.org/guides/graduation.html#top-level-board-proposal it
seems like anyone can submit the resolution to the board. The board may
discuss it, they may be quiet about it.

I would wait to see if there's any comments from board members before a
mentor or similar posts the resolution to the agenda.

It may behoove the podling to have the proposed VP email the resolution Or
have a highly experienced mentor do it.

Thoughts?

As per the calendar -- an ideal, safe timing to submit a resolution is
full 10 days ahead of the board meeting. However, as the calendar

I don't understand: it became part of the FINAL draft that John sent out today

period it covers. As such I see no reason not to add the IPMC approved

AriaTosca

ARIA TOSCA project offers an easily consumable Software Development
Kit(SDK)
and a Command Line Interface(CLI) to implement TOSCA(Topology and
Orchestration Specification of Cloud Applications) based solutions.

AriaTosca has been incubating since 2016-08-27.

Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation:

   1. Finalize migration of existing ARIA code, including Parser-NG with
TOSCA and TOSCA for NFV profiles, and workflow engine to the ASF repo.
   2. Create and publish release process for ARIA-TOSCA Project, release
process will include Parser, TOSCA profiles, Workflow Engine, CLI.
   3. Publish "How To Contribute" guide at ARIA-TOSCA Website.

Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to be
 aware of?
There's an INFRA jira we created over a month ago which has yet to be
addressed - please see here
INFRA-12733 - Ability to create a Sprint Board for AriaTosca WAITING FOR
USER

It is not entirely critical for the project's progress, but it could be
helpful if we indeed get a sprint board and the other things requested in
that issue.
