Dumb question: what was the MTU setting of the eth interface associated
with port 2? Dropping jumbo frames has nothing to do with LRO - it is
plain layer 2 functionality.

It should be. There is mlx4_en module param (num_lro) that controls it.

Ben,
What is the 8-stream BW you are seeing with IPoIB when using datagram
mode and MTU=1500?

Bart,
Particular card you were testing doesn't support 5 GT/s PCIe operation.
There are other adaptors from the same product family based on ConnectX
silicon device that are capable of PCIe gen-2 (5GT/s) link speed.
Please, contact your distributor for details.

I think for small MTU sizes you will see better performance with IPoIB
in datagram mode.

Please, make sure to have active subnet manager on your InfiniBand
fabric - it is essential for IPoIB operation.

James,
Mellanox InfiniScale III switch chip does support 4K MTU as stated in
the product brief. However it requires special FW settings that might or
might not be available from/supported by particular switch system
vendor.

Scott,
Do you use any form of Boot-over-IB in this cluster?
If so - what version/flavor of it?
Thanks,

Hi Michael,
MT23108 HCAs are supported.
Please, update FW on your card to the latest version available from
Mellanox web site at
http://www.mellanox.com/support/firmware_table_IH.php
Follow FW burning instructions provided there.

Hi Michael,
You mentioned FW version 3.05, while the latest is 3.5.0.
Please, verify.

Bernd,
0x14 is the maximal value for HOQ lifetime, which effectively disables
the mechanism. I think you shouldn't exceed this value.

I am not familiar with SBS IB driver for VxWorks, but in general any IB
compliant HCA
should talk with any other IB compliant switch/HCA with no regards to
the driver implementation.
Make sure to run SM on one of the ends to enable link establishment.
Boris
Correct.
Make sure to use unattended install - to take advantages of the
ofed.conf file:
install.sh -c ofed.conf
