in the API? It would seem that a
function which could update the ib_mad_addr in a umad given a path record would
seem appropriate.

. There are existing
configurations where the QLogic SM can configure a different LMC value for
certain types of nodes in the fabric. All of which need to be able to
participate in IPoIB.

I am aware of 3rd party applications which use UC. However nothing other than
perhaps test programs which ships with OFED uses UC.
Why do you ask?

Is there an OFED API so a user space application can register for callbacks
from the SMA for events such as:
- LID changed
- SMLID changed
- Subnet Prefix Changed
- PKey table changed
- Potentially other aspects of SMA changed

the port differently. A
similar problem occurs if the SM is reconfigured and the 1st pkey changes.
His patch will adjust the pkey used by IPoIB (which is also part of the IPoIB
IPv4 broadcast address) when the PKey table changes.

thought that it is permitted.
[Todd Rimmer] It's about scalability. An all to all query in a fabric would
return at least N^2 path records, add in an LMC, some varied SLs and PKeys and
quickly it becomes ludicrously large. For example at only 25 nodes, with 8 SLs
and 4 PKeys you could have 20,000
HCA or
switch port. All IB products shipped within the last 6 years support
10g, so the fact your system has negotiated to 2.5g indicates a problem
with the link.
Bad or poorly connected cables are the typical cause.

will depend on the specific application/problem you are trying to solve.

which resolves path in 1 loop than 2 loops
in case of GID(first to resolve GID and then to get LID).
[Todd Rimmer] Basing IPoIB on the GID keeps open the opportunity for
IPoIB to span IB subnets in the future. Also this permits the SM to
manage the paths and PathRecord parameters appropriately
Hal,
Attached is a diff with 2 fixes to complib. The first is one I sent you
yesterday (reset count in qmap on remove_all). The second corrects the
same bug in fleximap.
Patches are against main branch, however this code is the same in OFED
1.2 as well.

We added this capability to our internal equivalent of complib a few
years ago and found a lot of uses for it. So I thought it would be a
simple yet powerful capability to add to OFED complib.
