Hi Calixte,
I wrote the attached patch to reduce the size of ps or eps file. I added
basic shortcuts to postscript commands and gave an
access to the property clippingDisabled. With these modifications (and in
using the added method disableClipping) I can divide
by 3 the size of eps files

Hi everyone,
If I understand correctly, you can register your proposed projects in
JIRA, see the above web page.
Oops, I missed that sentence; today, while revisiting this thread I
noticed that, according to the timeline [1], the proposals will need
to be postponed for next year. :-| The
Hi everyone,
If we're making this democratic then we should bear in mind that we
don't want the majority oppressing the minority, we can't let the poll
be the final decision.
I subscribe to Mehdi's thoughts. For example, I noticed most active
Batik committers pretty silent on this thread,
Hi everyone,
[X] +1 Approve J2SE 1.5 as minimum environment
Agreed. I don't think we can/should proceed 'for' Batik.
Again, I've pinged other Batik developers as well (which seem to be
quite overflown):

Should do it again
Hi everyone,
I think we have to be pragmatic about that. This issue has been
outstanding for more than 2 months and hasn’t been dealt with yet. That
means that among the current team nobody has the knowledge or the time
to handle it. I have neither of those.
I've made partial testing (in
Hi everyone,
A big advantage of Java 1.6 over 1.5 is that the @Override annotation
also works on methods that come from an interface. That eases
refactoring a lot.
Java 1.6 also comes with a slightly improved Collections framework.
BTW: I wasn't even aware of these new, cool features...
Hi everyone,
I would like to call for a vote to merge the XML Graphics Commons color
branch [1] into the Trunk. I've got the code in production since August
and it's working just fine, especially the named colors functionality.
I've now done some cleanup work and I believe the branch is now

Hi everyone,
Hi Nicanor,
I am a big fan of many apache products and especially fop. I am using fop
in lots of applications and it really does its job great and I wanted to use
it on google's application engine as well. Besides google's limitations to
lots of classes, I finally made it and
Hi everyone,
As you are all aware, Jeremias currently hosts a PDF plug-in for loading
PDFs as images within FOP.
Actually, I wasn't aware of that but I bet it's Apache quality, coming
from Jeremias. :-)
I suggested this to Jeremias and he has agreed to donate the code to Apache.
Applause
Hi everyone,
I've made some progress on the XML Graphics CMS migration.
Does the CMS take the same markup used for FOP? Is there any automated
transform mechanism or will this be a one-time migration? I'm asking
this because I have a handful of changes in my working copy for which
I didn't have
Hi,
Hi Oliver,
The download link seems to be down.
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/batik/download.cgi
Clicking the binary distribution (first download link) takes me to
http://mirror.catn.com/pub/apache//xmlgraphics/batik/batik-1.7.zip
which isn't there. I've tried a few different
Hi everyone,
Java 6 is pretty much the same as IE 6: a (reasonably stable) thing
everyone relies upon during (too much) time but, when it's time to move on,
it's harder to bury than a zombie...
+1 from me too.
Have a nice weekend,
Helder

+1, even without having a chance to catch up with latest changes within the
voting period. Thanks for the effort!
I'm currently reviewing some minor glitches, such as Jan's and a
documentation related. If changes are made, it would be nice to include
them in the final release.
Have a great
