Mostly the comments are interesting.
If you just need to fill out a form or similar you can use gimp,
but if you need to do proper editing apparently scribus is the best
tool according to this.

processors is that faster or slower than using the 64
setup?
Running 64 or 32 bit kernel and/or userland has absolutely nothing to
do with enabling smp support in the kernel, which seems to be what you
meant.

have to
compile manually, exporting ABI=32 and putting -m32 in your CFLAGS,
which should do the trick.
I'm not using any of the compiled ones atm and am not at home right
now, but if you need any help with that I might be able to provide it
later.
