it doesn't matter that much, but I use pkgconf, it's a rewrite of pkg-config
which does some things better ( like determining what has to be linked into the
binary ) and works fine for me.

When I update my
gentoo I get this message.

Write a wrapper script around quickpkg and emerge.
And set buildpkg in FEATURES so this doesn't happen again :-)
