The easiest way to upgrade would be to remove or backup the INSTALLATION_ROOT/webapps/geoserver. Then unzip the -latest-bin.zip and copy the webapps/geoserver folder from there to the existing location. Or you can simply unpack the new version anywhere on your system. And if you want to use the
