you don't say which service you're using (that matters)...
For example, returning 404 is a requirement from the WMTS specification,
omitting that would make the server non compliant.
An explicit test for it is mandated as part of the "Abstract Test Suite":

I will check with other services if we can have a behaviour which is ok
with the customer requirements.

I have made request using “PropertyIsEqualTo” , “PropertyIsBetween” ,
“featureid” filters and getting expected output.

returned size 18 x 5 instead of 17 x 3 for gdal_translate or 17 x 4 for
geoserver WCS GetCoverage.

If you are getting an error, you can check the log file to see what the
