Hi all,
This is a early "heads-up" on some outputs of a data modelling workshop
I recently participated in that provided an opportunity to explore some
of the relationships between "Simple" and "General" Features and
Coverages, and the underlying phenomena being modelled.

Hi all,
I started writing this message convinced that there was a major flaw in the
feature model. Surprisingly it seems Jody/Bryce noticed it last week and put
AttributeDescriptor.getName() in place. It didn't existed yet. So I'm still

I'm working on porting arcsde to complex-features now.

Cool. If you could report on where they are extensively used that would
be helpful too. It is official GeoTools policy to use the logger, so
any use of the System stuff is very bad. If you come up with a list
I'll try to spend some spare cycles on removing them as well...

Just out of curiousity, what is the native projection of the rasters,
lat/lon? Taking lat/lon rasters into a polar projection can cause
some singularity cases (interesting thread on that recently on
mapserver-users) which means the projection code needs to be more
"robust" as you put it. W

Hi Justin,
I'm looking at opengis/unit source folder in complex-features/main
It holds the unit tests for the geotools implementation of the new geoapi
interfaces, though its the only source folder lacking backporting to 1.4.
Is this intentional? If not, is it ok I make the port or are you alread
Hi John,
It might take a while for the module maintainers to get around to
changing the system outs to proper logging. I'm sure if you submitted
the changed files to one of us with commit access, they could be rolled
in easily and in a timely manner.
Just at the current time there is heavy dev
Title: Usage of System.out and System.err vs Logger
Hi,
I'm in the process of working on a J2EE project that is using geotools quite extensively. Geotools is great, but there appears to be a somewhat irritating use of System.out.print* and System.err.print* peppered throughout the code (207
