I entered my command into the shell buffer of emacs, and straight away I saw an
entry '047, which when I corrected it to 1047 allowed me to start downloading,
so panic stations now cancelled and normal service has been re-enabled!

This morning I started my usual weekly look through the past programmes to see
what I want to download, and then issue the following command 'get_iplayer -g
33840' & onwards, but no matter what I do the end of the list shows up as '>'
and doesn't

I'm currently using v2.94 as it is the only version that I have
available to me that gets sensible download sizes, by this I mean that
'Ambulance' is 651.8mb. I would use 2.97 if I could only train it to get
sensible file sized download sizes, but how please?
This is my 'config' file -
Whenever I download a radio programme now with get_iplayer v2.91
it downloads OK, except there is no thumbnail and when its loaded
into ncmpcpp [a ncurses front-end to mpd] it does not display the
programme name, its station it was broadcast on, nor any other

Yesterday and today gi has gone rogue in its pvr interface by
downloading everything in its pvr-cache! Yesterday it had downloaded
23g before I realised and stopped it. I then rebooted. Today I
restarted it as per my usual way, and it downloaded 8g before I
stopped it.

You do not need a UK TV licence to use get-iplayer. You only need
a TV licence if you are recording TV programmes as they are being shown on
TV. This is from the TV licensing
