A heads up for people who are perhaps playing with get_iplayer for the first
time in order to capture these relays; its worth remembering with footage that
runs for hours that you can extract just the bits
I now have a HD URL
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00syxbw/hd/Torch_Relay_London_2012_Torch_Relay_Day_54_Morning_Session/
And can't seem to get a particularly HD looking video. What do I need
to do to make the video download as HD if it's available as HD.

I am having issues with this too. I have tried get_iplayer --pid
p00syxbw for the bit I am after, but it's not working. I normally use
the GUI and not console so this is a little harder for me to
understand. It's not working for me but they only ran past a few hours
ago - will I need to wait?

ITV/C4/C5 are no longer supported by get_iplayer. They haven't been for
a while, but a lot of people still find their way to the

A bit more information. Running on a Mac, latest Lion release. The reason I'm

I have ended up with the whole of 6 hours worth squished in to a 2gb
file, is there anything I can do to get a higher quality version? It's
worse than YouTube 240p. Do I need to wait for a HD copy or is this
the best there is and nothing else is likely to happen to improve it
now?

Is it possible to use get_iplayer to retrieve Olympic Torch Relay footage?
Sample URL: http://www.bbc.co.uk/torchrelay/day46 (It's the afternoon section
I want).
