Happy gnu year everyone!
As every year, many of us will be attending FOSDEM in Brussels, this
time from Friday 2 February 2024 to Sunday 4 February 2024.
So I thought about sharing my plan in case anyone wants to meet there.
I will be travelling from Frankfurt to Brussels Friday 2, and I will
I will be imparting a workshop on "practical poke" at the DevConf.CZ

During the workshop we will have plenty of time to go through the main
aspects of the program, learning and having fun as we poke at actual
data. It will be

Awesome. See you there!
It is FOSDEM again! :)
As it is traditional, I booked a room at the Hotel Ibis Brussels City
Centre (Rue Joseph Plateau, near the St. Catherine Church and Madame
Moustache) from Friday 3 February to Monday 6 February.
As it is also traditional, in Friday 3 we are having a GNU dinner at the

Hm, I am not a cvs expert and fail to fetch the latest via 'cvs update'
(it says it updates files, but 2020-august/ is missing). No idea what is
going on.
John, can you help !? That would be awesome.
The entire contents of 2020/ were removed in:
due to Covid-19 pandemic we should cancel (physical) GHM 2020.
Of course we could wait some more weeks to see how everything works out,
but I personally don't see any evidence for a calm down until then.

What about giving the uncut videos to the talkers ? And they decide what

a change.
I think the videos have been edited already.
Trying to get them.
Please BEAR WITH ME.
Hi people!
This year I will be arriving to Brussels Midi Friday afternoon, around

Thanks for offer helping out GHM budget.
Hopefully, we won't have any expenses (room + projector are a free

Anyways, thank you for organizing GHM Swiss. I really hope to come
Hi people!
I just updated http://www.gnu.org/ghm/2020/index.html to include a group
photo.
It was a nice meeting :)
Salud!
We now have a free venue in Hamburg (even the same building), hosted by
CCC Hamburg (the Chaos Computer Club). Date and time stay the same
(19.-21. August).
Please have a look at https://www.gnu.org/ghm/2020/#main
Please me know if you are going to participate.
Given that there seems to be some consensus that we want to have more

Hi people!
While talking to Mark in irc, we thought it would be a nice idea to have
a meetup plus dinner before FOSDEM next year. The idea is to find some
sort of venue and meet during the afternoon the day before FOSDEM. Then
go dinner, probably to the usual New Annapurna :)
Who would be
Ok, two people said yes, 2 have concerns. I would say that is a no go.
I just send an email to the CCC Hamburg if they can offer a cheap
conference room. I keep you informed about any new information.
Thanks Tim. Let's see what they say.

Hi people!
Just a quick note regarding the eBPF GCC port I presented at the GHM: it
is now upstream and therefore will be part of GCC 10.

Hi people!
It was fun :) Thanks to you all for coming.
If you made some nice photos of the event, could you please send some to
me? I want to publish them in the website.
Thanks!
Is anyone arriving in Madrid on Tuesday? I arrive around 18:30 at

Good idea.
Let's meet Tuesday at 21:00 in Plaza de Callao (Metro Station "Callao"),

Hi people!
FYI I just added the following to the GHM page.

There are many options for accommodation in Madrid. An alternative

affordable hotel at walking distance from the venue is the "Hotel

Good news everybody!
Twelve years after it's first edition in Orense, the GHM is back to
Spain! This time, we will be gathering in the nice city of Madrid for
hacking, learning and meeting each other.
The event will have place from Wednesday 4 September to Friday 6
September, 2019.
Please
do you have by chance a concrete date for the GHM?
I have to coordinate the meeting with another conference around this time.
Thanks and have nice weekend!
4, 5 and 6 September 2019.
FOSDEM 2019 is over -- and we didn't have the usual GNU dinner at the
Annapurna restaurant, what happened?! ;-) We shall try again next year!
A few of us indeed met at the Annapurna for dinner! I guess it was
hastily organized... next year we shall do better yeah :D
Pity we
Just a little update.
Secured the venue.
Working out the rest of the details.
Won't close definitive dates, publish the website and announce until I
get to know when exactly the GNU Tools Cauldron will happen this year,
to avoid the chance both conferences may collide. I should know this
week.
Hi everybody!
Unless someone suggests a better working alternative, I will be
organizing the GHM 2019 in Madrid, Spain.
The venue will be the ETSISI in the UPM [1], the Informatics schools in
the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where I studied.
I will be uploading a webpage soon, but

I myself would be really happy if the event took place where I live [0].
It's a mid-size city with a superb atmosphere and excellent places
to eat :)
Absolutely seconded :D
Someone lives in Frankfurt or travels from there?
I live in Frankfurt.
We will be driving to the GHM either the 24 evening or 25 morning.
I will be attending GHM as well and will be traveling from
Saarbruecken. I was wondering if you have more space in your car for
me to join you. Then I could easily make the journey to either
Frankfurt city or airport whichever would be more convenient.
I think so, yes.
so I took my ticket to the next GNU Hacker Meeting.
I could use some indications about the travel to reach the place.
I understand that the final part can be from Fulda or Kassel.
But how to reach Fulda or Kassel ?
From where I live I can easily access

I'll be there too. As Ludo suggests, let's organise a dinner for the
Friday — we could just head to that Indian (was it Indian?) restaurant

We’ll have to make sure to organize the usual beer/dinner for Friday
evening before the event. :-)
Good, good :)
I will be arriving at some point in Friday, as usual. What about
meeting at the Astrid hotel at 20:00?
Hi hackers! FOSDEM starts in 4 weeks.. so... who is coming? :)
I just booked a double room at the Astrid, as usual.
I am pleased to announce registration is now open for the annual FOSDEM
gnu hackers meal ;-)

This is true. There are two halfway reasonable ways to get to the
