[Gimp-developer] 6 DOF HID support

2010-07-17 Thread Cedric Sodhi
Researching for how to get my SpaceNavigator 3dmouse, which is a fully HID compliant 6 DOF device, I came across this thread http://old.nabble.com/Adding-SpaceNavigator-support-td15100788.html Dated Jan. 2008. links to a thread still sticky on the 3dconnexion forums

[Gimp-developer] Gradual zooming!

2010-07-17 Thread Cedric Sodhi
Hello again, I'd like to know whether there exist efforts to implement gradual zooming. As far as concerns me 10% steps (or whatever it is) is an absolute no go for artits and makes workflow as fluent as swimming through bricks. I thought this wouldnt require much effort since GIMP apparenty

I hope you don't deem it inappropriate for a non-developer to input his opinion on a developing issue but I'd like to add that people who are really concerned about what GIMP can not do are certainly not concerned about the set of brushes, patter etc pp. shipped with GIMP. If there is something

[Gimp-developer] Can't change color of Stylus with Not-Stylus

2011-01-02 Thread Cedric Sodhi
Using GIMP 2.6 I've set up a stylus as drawing device and my Stylus appears to remember another color than my core pointer (or any other input device, for that matter) as shown in Device Status. Does anyone know what I will have to do so that two Devices share the same color (and possibly other

[Gimp-developer] New adjustment widgets

2011-01-07 Thread Cedric Sodhi
I'd like to bring up an idea that does not seem too difficult to implement and that should replace the unusuable slider widgets for, say, brush size. If you are okay with that, I might implement it. The sliders are virtually useless because they cover a fixed range from 0 to insert big value here

Hi, I think this is already being adressed for 2.8. You are not the only one who is bothered by this. Basing the rate of change upon the current zoom is a very good idea! It would definitly make sense to have the slider automatically cover a range between 1px and

[Gimp-developer] Plans for input handling in GIMP

2011-05-10 Thread Cedric Sodhi
The current way input devices are setup and handled is flawed in thus far that it does not allow for any soft of useful flexbility and is, for a bigger part, not working either. I suggest to do the following to everything input related on GIMP: 0) Add a Pan tool to the toolbox! Mandatory! 1)
