This is a bug in gimp.  Gimp will install the save handlers twice if you have
updated your plug-in since the last time gimp was run.  This bug is still around
as of gimp 1.1.12

I don't know the exact problem, but maybe, during development, gimp
queried your plugin twice (try rm ~/.gimp/pluginrc). Also, be sure that
you do not have your executables twice in your plug-in search path.  (And
lastly, make sure (printf!) that youn really only register your handlers
_once_)
