Ok, if you go here,

http://gimp.linux.it/www/manual/2.10/html/en/

is it less old?

> Another thing: how do you use IRC. I don't know that.

First of all you need an irc client. There are many for Linux. I use
hexchat, try it. Then you have to select to the GIMPNet server
(irc.gimp.org) and go for #gimp #gimp-user and #gimp-web channels.

You can execute some commands with the GUI and all commands manually.

All commands on a IRC server are more or less the same:

/join #channelname

to join a channel

/quit

to quit

usually in the form:

/somecommand

search on web there are plenty of guides to do anything in irc.
IRC protocol is really the "father" of all on-line chats in use these days...

How do you see it that it's not updated?
For what I see (there is not a timestamp) it is updated...

You can't expect them to reply to a random Hi, if that is what you are
asking, but IRC is pretty much where GIMP development is happening.
#gimp is pretty active on usual European evenings.

Figuring out that, while the build is running, nothing is rsynced ,has
been done entirely on IRC. If we need more persistence, it would be
better to file an issue - and bring that up on IRC if necessary, it's
much more easy to post issue URL than mailing list archives.

My experience is ... the few times I connect into irc, all people are
connected but nobody's speaking. It seems to me a place where people meet
after having arranged an appointment or so by any other means...

Email is persistent, irc is not. I can't see older messages. So, for me,
irc is like using the phone: without record and on the fly.

Not the right tool for bugs that lasts for months...

Am I wrong?

That was when the whole infrastructure was migrated to GNOME OpenShift,
and...

A much faster and more direct way to interact, rather than the mailing
list, would be IRC, especially the #gimp channel on irc.gimp.org - this
is pretty much where all the active developers are.

Most of all it is not encuraging ignoring us and our problem reports...

Who is responsible to the help compilation?

Can we, at least temporarly, cover for him?

How can we do? Do we need special permission on some Virtual Machine somewhere?

Devs? Is anyone here?
