I want to be able to view my photos on my new LG dvd player; however it
only recognises the *Baseline* encoding.
I can of course manually open each jpg, do a 'save as' with the 'Force
baseline JPEG' option and overwrite the original using the same
filename. But obviously it would be nice to use

Try with exifiron and a shell script after you save in GIMP.
I update SuSE 9.0 to 9.1. After that, Gimp 2.0 wasn`t able to open JPG
files. Massage: Plugin wasn`t able tu open picture. When I start gimp in
an xTerm I get the massage: /opt/gnome/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/jpeg: fatal
