I'm glad to announce the release of pre-build packages for

GIMP 2.6.2 for Leopard / Tiger

on Intel Macs. You can download these releases from

New in these releases:

Updates:
GIMP 2.6.2
UFRaw 0.14.1, read and process various camera raw files
GREYCstoration 2.9, noise reduction plugin for GIMP
Liquid Rescale Plugin 0.5

Fixes:
user account with more than 16 groups on MS Active Directory
fonts cache directory now stored within GIMP's user directory
default settings for toolbox and docks windows: normal (as in 2.4)

PPC versions will follow soon. So stay tuned.

the pages are now translated to english. 
So, is there a chance that you'll place a link on gimp.org's download pages
to point to either ot http://gimp.lisanet.de or to the sourceforge project
site http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimponosx ?
This would make it easier for users to find the recent packages of Gimp 2.6.x
for Mac OS X.

it's a pain if the Mac OS X support team changes the website and the
download URLs every once in a while. It would be really nice if the
Apple users could get their act together and provide a single place that
provides information and downloads for GIMP on Mac OS X.

sorry for the pain with the current situation of Gimp on Macs. It's a pitty
that it just came to this situation. I don't want to recall the discussions on
wilber-loves-apple, but as I'm one of the developers who did most of the
initial way how Gimp was built on WLA, the project is somehow still
continuing, despite the new URL... 


We can't even link to your website as it seems to only provide
information in German?! What about moving your packages to
wilber-loves-apple.org instead of duplicating that effort?

As I never wanted to take over the lead role in providing packages in the
first place, the page started as a small site, documenting my efforts. Now, as
WLA seems to be down, I'll try to translate the pages. I can drop you a line
when it's done.

Just to let you know that the GIMP port on MacPorts has been upgraded to
2.6.1.

Packages for 2.6.1 are already available. You can download them from the
sites / sourceforge project mentioned above. (for any combination
Leopard/Tiger/Intel/PPC)
