[Gimp-user] not working

The Windows installers for GIMP 2.6.5 and GIMP 2.6.6 is packaged wrongly and will only keep from crashing with luck. You should either use GIMP 2.6.4 or wait for GIMP 2.6.7 to be released, which should be soonish. / Martin Hi Mary, You asked for some help with installing 2.6.4 I think. Go here http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/gimptalk-glossary--faq-look-here-before-asking?-t26068.html and scroll down to how to do a clean install of GIMP and follow the steps. If step 1 is confusing just do the steps after you've just started up your computer. You can skip step 1 if you do it when you've just started up your computer. At step 7 you need to download version 2.6.4 that you can find here http://www.filehippo.com/download_the_gimp/5072/ Hope this helps! jolie -- jolie (via www.gimpusers.com) ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

First question to ask is if whether or not you are using the installers for 32 or 64 bit Windows. I am running Gimp 2.6.6 for Windows on 64 bit XP SP3, without any difficulty, though it appears I may have intstalled using the 32 bit version. ns ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

2. Doesn't this mean that your hand that's holding the mouse has to be super-precise in making a rectangular section to NOT include the white background space? If your mouse control is not satisfactory, use what we had before mice, the keyboard to change the +/- degrees of rotation. THanks for your input. In regards to mouse-holding, I was referring to when you are doing the crop. I want a border-less image. In other words, no white space on the periphery of the image. How can we capture only the image, and nothing else? Thank you. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
