I've located and downloaded the plugin, extracted it, found two plugin folder paths that show in the Gimp Preferences Folders box, placed copies of the plugin files in each of those folders, but Resynth still does not show up in my Gimp 2.8. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Caruso As far as I know under Linux plugins are best installed using the gimptool-2.0 utility. [Gimp-user] Image discoloration
I have just installed Gimp 2.8 and really, really like it except upon opening an image to work on, Gimp really discolors it. This so spoils the original. I have good image display on all other programs. I am hoping for some insight on how to correct this problem please and I am not computer savvy by the way. This so spoils the original. Which platform? Linux Ubuntu? Which version? One possible reason is to do with colour management - you might need to use Edit/Preferences to disable colour management. This can be needed in particular if (1) there's a bug :-_ or (2) you have an incorrect colour profile for your monitor (not uncommon on Microsoft Windows I hear), or (3) the input file has an embedded colour profile that's incorrect.
