New user here. running GIMP 2.8.10 on an old XP machine.
Have downloaded 2.8.14 but holding off on the installation while learning.
Al that aside. Question, How do I change a selection to a layer?

I just made a test with your picture using MAGIX Pro X6. In the
attachment you see a single frame of my test-video. As you can see,
there is no problem with your image. So I can support what Steve Kinney
wrote: your solution will be in the program which you are using to make
the video.
