It would be trivial to change the color management display filter to
provide this functionality. I hope that we can have this in GIMP 2.4

Color management. But in Adobe's process, all these steps are taken in
charge by Photosho

No, not yet. But it might be added with the color management features
in GIMP 2.4 or at a later point.
