Dave, et. al... While the UI is lame, the Linux Netscape email client is not subject to viruses. --Ames ** Amy L. RE: [Gimp-user] beginner trying to use plug-ins
David, I'm not real good at decrypting email headers, but I'll give it a shot. As far as I can see, the original date in the header ("Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2001 20:51:30 -0400") is the same on all the messages, so it appears you only sent 1 email. The last "Recieved" line for "lists.xcf.berkeley" shows "id C73153A21A; Sun, 29 Jul 2001 17:52:08 -0700 (PDT)" on all the emails, so it's still that same email (no duplicate yet). However, when lists.xcf.berkeley.edu sends it to my mail service (watchdog.hqisec.army.mil) , the ID and time stamp changes. Granted, that might have happened at my mail server, but I doubt it for the SMTP id is also unique on every message, which indicates that berkeley is the one who's duplicating the email. In that case, others should also be receiving duplicates, which is why I'm posting this reply to you on the list, so someone at berkeley can see it, and fix it. FWIW, I've now got about 40 of these duplicates :) -Al Andersen Received: from watchdog.hqisec.army.mil ([137.80.60.156]) by ISECMAIL.hqisec.army.mil with SMTP (Microsoft Exchange Internet Mail Service Version 5.5.2650.21) id N56NMBKV; Tue, 31 Jul 2001 10:33:29 -0700 Received: from lists.xcf.berkeley.edu ([128.32.43.210]) by watchdog.hqisec.army.mil (NAVIEG 2.1 bld 63) with SMTP id M2001073110230525238 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tue, 31 Jul 2001 10:23:05 -0700 Received: from lists.xcf.berkeley.edu (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by lists.xcf.berkeley.edu (Postfix) with ESMTP id C73153A21A; Sun, 29 Jul 2001 17:52:08 -0700 (PDT) Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from lemur.cabm.rutgers.edu (cabm.rutgers.edu [192.76.178.143]) by lists.xcf.berkeley.edu (Postfix) with ESMTP id 859243A209 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sun, 29 Jul 2001 17:51:25 -0700 (PDT) Received: from cabm.rutgers.edu (IDENT:[EMAIL PROTECTED] [192.76.178.225]) (authenticated) by lemur.cabm.rutgers.edu (8.10.1/8.10.1) with ESMTP id f6U0p1M31410 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sun, 29 Jul 2001 20:51:01 -0400 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> From: David Buckler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.76 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.4.1 i686) X-Accept-Language: en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: [Gimp-user] beginner trying to use plug-ins Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-BeenThere: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.3 Precedence: bulk List-Help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=help> List-Post: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List-Subscribe: <http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user>, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=subscribe> List-Id: List-Unsubscribe: <http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user>, <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=unsubscribe> List-Archive: <http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/lists/gimp-user/> Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2001 20:51:30 -0400 Message replying to -- not the one for headers above--- From: David Buckler [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, July 31, 2001 10:32 AM To: Andersen, Al Subject:Re: [Gimp-user] beginner trying to use plug-ins "Andersen, Al" wrote: > Check your outbox and make sure you don't have the email stuck in the queue > there. Re: [Gimp-user] beginner trying to use plug-ins
Al -thanks for the complaint. I am *not* resending the attached message deliberately. I sent it from my machine only once (and quickly got a couple of helpful replies). Are others on the list also getting mutliple sends of this message, or only Al Andersen? I have no idea whether I can do anything from this end to stop this (virus?). Re: [Gimp-user] beginner trying to use plug-ins
Hi David - gfig is found in the ->Filters->Render menu as Gfig. If you're only running version 1.0 you should really upgrade. Current version is 1.2.2 (hot of the presses a couple of days ago), and the increased functionality and ease of use is really great. Check http://www.gimp.org for availabliity of a packaged version. I use the source tarball myself, so I can't help you there. If you're interested in doing more with the Gimp, check out the gimpi list at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gimpi and the various gimp galleries at http://gug.sunsite.dk/ HTH, -- --Jeff Jeff Trefftzs <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://www.tcsn.net/trefftzsHome Page http://gug.sunsite.dk/gallery.php?artist=68 Gimp Gallery http://members4.clubphoto.com/jeff309574A photo gallery ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
