1.1.26 and still having scanner problems

Hi, since 1.1.25 I can't link xscanimage or xsane as a gimp plugin. Gimp freezes on startup while scanning the plugins. Just to be sure it's not something I did, I recompiled 1.1.24 and tested it. Both xsane and xscanimage work fine with 1.1.24, but not with 1.1.25 or 1.1.26. Since we're getting
