FourSquares1 both via prestige and without prestige and one nicowar without

first of all, great you have motivation and time to revive my all time favorite
game on my favorite platform.
I agree it will definitely be a glob3 but I would stay true to its predecessor.
That is:
* no micro management (which is a great point for having in a RTS on a touch
device.)
I agree that open source would be much preferred over some closed source for
profit indie game although I wouldn't resist to make lots of money if such a
closed source project asked me to take parts of the huge venture capital.
A server-client solution with a closed source server would be the
P2P style may be the answer. You will need just a fixed ip (or dyndns pro
service) to let users connect and host lobby themselves.
In the gnutella way for example.
The current glob2 has a meta server with the game running on each client. I
guess that is what you describe?

Regarding network communication: I'm not familiar with the way glob2
handles that now. That said, I'd generally suggest communicating state
changes for the whole game between clients, maybe managed by a

now that my server went down due to full discs i realized there are 1GB of core
dumps in glob2/src/.
i backupde some but don't know what to do with them. if anybody is interested in

having written something on the issue of one wide gaps. The according image is

As for the hudson server error, Steph made some changes for detecting
the gss compiler. It might use configuration options of a newer scons
script, so you could try updating it. Here is my scons info that gets
through to where usl breaks.
