Andrea Veri commented: >From IRC: ``` feaneron, the thing there is a video service requires 1. bandwidth 2. storage and both implies increased costs and impacts across the data center where GNOME services are hosted so I cannot promise that'll ever be a thing today on top of that there's the fact we dramatically increased the number of services we host/maintain given Openshift eases that and we're at a point where we'd like to spend our efferts to make sure what runs today runs efficiently and most importantly in a secure way aka not having a service we set up today and ends up unmaintained in 3 months as that takes in security risks and what not ``` -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitLab: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/-/issues/347#note_866506 You're receiving this email because of your account on gitlab.gnome.org. ___ gnome-infrastructure mailing list gnome-infrastructure@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-infrastructure
Infrastructure | Consider hosting a private PeerTube instance (#347)
Georges Basile Stavracas Neto created an issue: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/-/issues/347 Popular proprietary video streaming platforms such as YouTube and Twitch are seeing an influx of hazardous elements being exposed. Recent cases of racism and prejudice being freely promoted on YouTube don't help too. Personally, I was using YouTube to live-stream GNOME development videos, but after these cases, I refuse to use this platform again to upload GNOME content. PeerTube doesn't have ([yet?](https://framablog.org/2020/05/26/our-plans-for-peertube-v3-progressive-fundraising-live-streaming-coming-next-fall/)) live streaming support, but I'd like to at least record and publish GNOME videos in a GNOME-controlled instance. -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitLab: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/-/issues/347 You're receiving this email because of your account on gitlab.gnome.org. ___ gnome-infrastructure mailing list gnome-infrastructure@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-infrastructure
