Carl, Using preferences (Settings is what I think we're talking about) and gnome-tweaks is not at all difficult-- well, finding what needs to be changed is the most difficult, and knowing the correct terminology to run a search.  But I've used both of those apps to make a lot of changes

Hello Ken, for how to use preferences in Gnome or how to use gnome-tweaks, you could explore forums like ubuntu.com or askubuntu.com There are minimum differences, when you use Gnome in different distros. This way gnome-tweaks works. You only need to know the version for searching in forums.
