Leo,
Adrien's advice is accurate. Enter the transaction as he suggests, and ask your
tax advisor whether you owe tax or not. Gnucash is not an oracle; it won't be
able to answer your tax questions.

Whatever the transaction is supposed to be, you’ll be able to do it in GnuCash,
but you need to speak to a local CPA for formal advice on how to record it and
to answer your questions concerning tax implications.
In the most simple form, it might be something like:
Dr. Assets:Cash
Cr. Income:In
How would one handle a transaction of inherited cash in GnuCash within
Canada? Can I expect to be paying taxes on the sum in the future?
Thanks,

displayed which says that the transaction is being edited in another
register. This happens when I say "OK" after making changes. This is
happening on GNUcash V3.2 for Windows running on Win 7. I just opened
GNUcash and went

Ok Thanks for the fast response.
Do you know if this is on the roadmap? Trying to load a standard config if it
exists when print is selected would seem ( to someone with little knowledge!)
to be fairly straightforward.

There seem to have been some significant changes to invoice printing with v3.3,
which are a real step in the right direction.
Is there a way yet to save a default configuration for say an invoice, and then
have this used every time you open the print dialogue? Even though I have
edited Printab
Would suggest you start with the latest version of the Tutorial and Concepts

from 2016. GnuCash has changed quite a bit since then. Chapter 3.2 of the

Francisco just woke up to a scream of delight [from me]... I did what you

I see Colin has given you instructions on how to allow gnucash on your Mac.
You may find it no longer shows in your preferences so start again!
Shut gnucash. Open preferences. Put preferences where you can find it and then
open gnucash.
When it tells you it is restricted, go to preferenc

It would be worth telling us what operating system you are running
under and which version of gnucash you are using (Help > About).
I don't know that video (a link to it might be useful) and don't fully
understand what you have written, but what happens if you select View
