Arthur, If you have the Accounts tab showing in the GnuCash interface, the menu item Actions->New Account Heirarchy will run a dialogue which allows you to choose specific account options. The first step selects the currency for the accounts you are going to add which will be your local

If you are getting a crash, you should file it on bugs.gnucash.org and attach your crash report there. Also, check the wiki about obtaining a TraceFile. That might be helpful as well. But first... I'm guessing you can start GnuCash since it crashes on exit. Can you navigate to File > Open

I'm not using a Mac anymore, but you should know that double clicking a file in Finder will not open that file in GnuCash but will open the last opened file instead. It is a Known Mac Thing. You might want to try using File -> Open to see whether your File really won't open...

There was a problem with 4.8 on Monterey. I don't remember the symptoms, but upgrading to 4.8-2 or 4.9 fixed it. Either should be compatible with 4.8 on Linux. Will On 2022 Mar 4, at 03-04 18:39:04, brad wrote: I suddenly can't open a gnucash file (it worked recently) on Mac. Gnucash 4.8.

I suddenly can't open a gnucash file (it worked recently) on Mac. Gnucash 4.8.   The Mac recently updated to 12.2.1, Monterey & that may have broken gnucash. It will have an error msg like: 'Can't parse the URL/Volumes/.../brad.gnucash' We usually run it on a Samba share, but I copied it over

Hi, I use GnuCash for rental properties as well. Setup your accounts under expenses for repairs, insurance, utilities, etc. In my case, I setup a recurring transaction for rental income. Then, you only need to make changes as needed instead of doing it manually every month. On Fri, Mar 4, 2022

No. Sorry. Didn't put the question right.  I mean automatic post to the account showing what's owing so that I can see (and print out) at any time (on week by week steps) the balance of the account at that date. Because in fact they're frequently in the red. And frequently in front, ironically,
